I find it interesting that while Nick and Starr were doing poorly in the race, someone was happily posting a "Who is winning statistically" thread
every single week. But as soon as they regained 1st place in Cambodia, that thread seems to have disappeared... Bitter much? Here's MY figures after leg 8:
Nick/Starr: 2.75 Ken/Tina: 2.75 (but slightly lower because they survived NEL) Toni/Dall: 3.25 Terrence/Sarah: 3.25 Dan/Andrew: 6 Just thought some people
might like to know...

Exactly one of my points with this thread. People seem to hate them for no reason whatsoever. Just because they're doing so well. That's why I noted
the absence of the statistic thread. For whatever reason people don't like to recognize when they're doing well, but if they have a shitty leg (like
legs 2 thu 4) then people are all over it. Guess I just don't get it. I have no special love for them, but I think they're doing great as racers. Just
one win away from tying Colin and Christie...

Im happy for them and screw the haters.
Give me a break, so much of it is jealousy that they are doing so well. Ppl cream them when they are not at the front of the pack and ppl cream them when they win. It is clear that some ppl just dont like Nick and Starr for some reason. They race hard, they race well and they are there to win (is that not the reason for racing????). They are always polite to ppl (ok maybe not all the racers but outsiders they are definitely polite to, every cab driver, clue giver whatever). They are positive with one another and upbeat and do not fight. I wish I was that close with my brothers and sisters. |

Hah, this was never started as a "bitching about haters" thread. More as an... ironic musing. Hence the title of the thread. But I wouldn't be
surprised if the "statistics" thread appears again if Nick and Starr are eliminated next leg. I just find it interesting is all.

With the predictability of this race, it's hardly surprising it's not been updated.
Even a blind-man can see Nick/Starr are best because of their multiple firsts, followed by Toni/Dallas' consistent finishes, then Ken/Tina's strong moments + NEL, then Dandrew being hopelessly inept. |

I don't care for them because they just seem weirdly plastic to me. I doesn't bother me that they get along well, but I'd like to see some fun
brother/sister banter. That's why I liked Brian/Greg so much (and they were even an alpha male team), because you got that total brother vibe from them.
Like when they were crawling through caves or something, and it reminded them of the forts they'd built as kids. Just the little things like that that
make them relatable. Nick/Starr just seem like a sibling version of Kris/Jon.
Plus, there's the fact that they're making this season dreadfully predictable by their constant wins. If you're going to dominate, at least get yourself very nearly thrown in jail. |
