It seems to me a much simpler story for Bob would be just to say that's the idol he found in Exile and that whoever had the real idol made the fake one.

Unless we are being tricked by the editing, I don't buy that Bob is talking about the origins of the fake idol. Corrine is looking way too interested in
what Bob is telling her for that conversation to be about what is a trivial matter. (And besides, he should be smart enough to simply say that he didn't
know the idol was fake, since he was smart enough to vote Susie to make that story plausible.) I also am definitely not buying his story about the other idol.
If Corrine does indeed fall for that story, she needs to retract all of her statements about the others being morons, since she would clearly be the biggest
moron of them all.
