I have a serious character flaw that I openly admit to. I'm very critical of other peoples' christmas decorations. If they're not nice and straight, they shouldn't be up. Pay someone to do them right, or don't do them at all. All single-color lights (except white) have no business assulting my eyes. And IF you have to have all one color, make sure they're all the same freaking color. no 3 shades of blue on your front porch. Plain white, or multi color is the way to go. PLEASE, if they MUST blink or flash, make them all blink in unison. Don't be lazy and allow them to just flash willy-nilly. I won't even comment on the big blow-up accoutrements...omg. I know some of my favorite people on this board have these things, and I don't like them any less because of it. I don't judge people based on their Christmas decorations...I just judge the christmas decorations. :D Less is more, people. Less is more!

It's better to have a small amount of nice things than a bunch of tacky ones. Buy a nice lit wire thing this year and next year you can buy it a friend.

Also hate those inflatable things - the noise they make is horrible. The asshat across the street has a Santa and I can hear it blowing away in my house with the windows closed. I always hope for strong Santa Ana winds so they have to be shut down.

I don't mind that one, because it's in the BACK yard, and is blocked from my veiw by a series of arborvities... which, they put 'chasing' lights on.

I do what I want. I really don't give a shit what other people think about me. People who feel a need to judge others are just compensating for their own insecurities. A friend of mine had two of those light up deer on his front lawn one year. Every night, someone would sneak over at night and set up the deer so that one was humping the other. That was the last year my friend put those deer on his lawn.

White lights, green garland and red bows. And this year, my daughter bought me a glass block with lights inside and a huge bow (looks like a glowing present) that I put on my wrought iron plant stand on the porch. Very pretty. :D
