Song of the Year is for songwriting. Record of the Year is for the actual recording.
I'm really hoping Paper Planes wins Record of the Year and that American Boy wins Song of the Year. But it always seems like they like to give those to awards to the same single so to me it seems likely that those two will go to either Coldplay or Adele. |

Ooh No Air is nominated? Please dear god win. That would be FANTASTIC! But if it doesn't win, Rihanna/Maroon 5 is a suitable replacement, followed by
Madonna/Justin/Timbaland in 3rd.
And I hope Katy Perry wins for best female pop vocal performance. I Kissed A Girl is an awesome song, but if she doesn't win, its at least going to another deserving female. They are all great nominees. But um how can the Jonas brothers be considered for best new artist? Their first album was released in August of 2006. That's over 2 years ago. Hopefully Adele or Duffy wins, I don't know the other 2 nominated. And lets go Kathy Griffin! Take home that Grammy for Best Comedy Album! Although George Carlin will probably win... LAME |

The Pop Vocal Performance Female award already has Leona's name engraved on it. Although I'm rooting for my girl Duffy to win everything she's
nominated for.
Go BOOMIE! Go KATHY! |

I love Lady Antebellum I hope they win, but considering Sugarland couldn't win Best New Artist a few years back i doubt they will win. But than again
Carrie Underwood won it. I also really hope Jason Mraz wins. I have been a big fan of his since his very first single!

You can be nominated for Best New Artist if you have no other previous nominations. So, oddly enough, Jessica Simpson could be nominated in this category next year due to the fact that she has never been nominated before. |

Now that I see this Grammy list it looks much more solid than the one I got off MTV, yes another stray child is corrupted by MTV.
I think Death Cab For Cutie has a chance with that "I Will Possess Your Heart" it gets played a lot and it has pretty good musicianship. Also Violet Hill is IMO even better than Viva La Vida. But I like the more downtempo songs that Coldplay does. Either way a great song wins. BTW Sarah Barielles song goes.. I don't wanna write you a love song.. because you asked for it, cause you need one. Anyway check that out on youtube it was really big. |
