Actually it gets dark at approximately 4:30... then the hot vampires come out and speak Cajun like in True Blood or is that Twilight, I get my Vampires mixed
up.

When the economy's going good, the residents of Seattle talk down their city and advise people not to move there.

The rain isn't as bad as you hear.
The traffic is worse than you hear. |

Are they still playing all the grunge music over there?

Well...I heard the shopping is great and the coffee is not too shabby. Isn't that where they do the fancy foam designs?

Seattle folk like to wear flannel shirts and shorts, I'm told. They also like coffee.

I live near Seattle and it's 10x better than Portland, OR. The weather's nice year-round with lots of Starbucks on every block.

Whidbey Island is beautiful. You can get to it quickly by Ferry, or take the long way around and use a bridge over Deception Pass:

Hi kp! Thanks Seahawk....Do you happen to know if living on Whidbey is a pain in the ass because you have to rely on the ferry? So...warm clothing ALL the
time? AND MAJOR shock coming from Hawaii?

I loved it when I lived there.
Discovery park is amazing. Capitol Hill is a great freakshow with some pretty decent places to eat and drink. I much prefer Ballard and Freemont, across from Seattle proper. Great views. Volcano and 2 huge mountain ranges with an aquatic inlet where I've seen sea lions and Orcas. Still a lot colder than southern Cali -SJ™ |

What about Belvue? (sp) I'm trying to get a feel for areas around downtown and maybe not out on Whidbey.

Whidbey Island is fabulous I spent all my Thanksgiving's there. and yes its a two hour plus commute on most days with ferry wait and traffic combined.. Its
a second home kind of place. Very small "resortish"

Yes, it's going to be a HUGE weather shock from Hawaii...but a great cultural shock.
