This is exactly why Dustin & Kandice finished second in TARAS.

Most second placers are couples. Ronald & Christina and Dustin & Kandice are the only ones that weren't. Why didn't the curse work on Eric
& Danielle and TK & Rachel?

Kentina reminded me of Ron & Chris from the start. Not in terms of awesomeness but with their edit as the dysfunctional relationship that grows over time.

It's more the case that winners are almost always the youngest team - while there've been a variety of different age-groups and dynamics reaching the
Final 3, the winners have always been 20-somethings from TAR8 onwards.
Separated couples are always older and less likely to be able to keep up with the young, fast team in the final leg which usually involves a whole lot of running.
