The only thing I don't like about A&W is that they don't put ice in their pop/soda/soft drinks (whatever your word of choice is)

Ok, I asked about that once....
They don't put ice in the root beer because it dilutes the taste of the root beer. ...hence the frosted mugs |

Yeah, but they don't put ice in any and you only get the root beer in a frosted mug. And only if you eat it there. They need to put ice in the take away
drinks because by the time you get it home, it's not so frosty any more.

We have one of those combos with KFC near here. It's basically ignored by the two competing high schools, we claim Burger King and the school in the next
town over claims McDonalds(All 3 are located on the border between the two towns.) If you goto the wrong place, you get shanked. It's fun.

We had an A&W in the town I grew up in. I remember one hot summer day only three of us showed up for gymnastics class so my coach piled us into his car
and took us to A&W. That was back in the days when coaches could take kids places (even kids wearing leotards) without being accused of being child
molesters.
It was awesome. We all got rootbeer floats. |

My family went to A&W in the late 60's. There were the frosted mugs and a "baby mug" for kids under 3. That was me since I was the
youngest. I remember getting my first regular mug and how hard it was to drink it fast enough to keep up with my 3 older brothers. Rootbeer causes major
bubbles in a little kid that's trying to woof it down. The rootbeer was SO cold and SO wonderful! *awww....fond memories*

The A&W near me (and it's an hour away) only gives paper cups, no frosted mugs. I've been getting ripped off!
It is self serve root beer in a draft beer type thingy though, which is kinda fun. |

You can buy the mugs, both the regular size and the baby ones. We have a baby one. It holds about a teaspoon of liquid it seems like.

A&W used to be great. The one in my town is combined with LJS. NOTHING should be combined with LJS. The fishy smell and taste overpowers everything.
A&W's coneys are like rubber but they still have the kick ass onion rings. |

Going to A&W used to be a special occasion when we went to the beach since it was the only one within 50 or so miles of my hometown. The real treat for us
used to be Arctic Circle...until they closed down and an Arby's opened up there (gross). 2 years later a KFC/A&W combo opened up just down the street
so wahoo!

We've got a drive-in A&W here, but it's only open from April to October cuz of the shitty weather. Right now they're selling Christmas trees in
the parking lot.
