Torches at Mogo Mogo camp - Richard gone?

In tonights episode, when we were seeing Mogo Mogo's camp on what is supposed to be the morning after the big storm (when Shii-Ann is showing the other tribe members the pot of water), there are four torches resting up against part of the shelter in the background. Shii-Ann, Lex, Colby, and Kathy are all in the shot. Richard is not. If there was a 5th torch, I couldn't make it out. This has to mean that either they did have a ceremonial tribal council for Jenna and afterwards brought their torches back, and Rich and his torch are simply not in the scene. Or this means that this shot is taken from a future episode and Rich has been voted out. I can't do screencaps, anybody else catch this?

You can see them in the same shot as Lex, Shii Ann, Kathy, and Colby. So EITHER Rich is booted (which indicates the twist does not rearrange MM) or MM switches Rich in exchange for another player who is then booted. ETA: or there are really five torches and they had a TC for Jenna.

If you look at their clothes, they all remain the same throughout the next shot of them making fire and building shelter. The next time you see Richard with other tribemates (after he's caught the eels) Colby is wearing shorts instead of pants and Lex has no shirt on ... Hmm, could Richard possibly be booted next week? The twist simply might be having two tribes vote someone out instead of one. Then we would have 12 people left and they could divide into two tribes of six.

Posts: 3521 02/20/04 01:18 AM Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts	It also somewhat makes sense if you look at one of the website clues for the next episode: *Quote:* Deception, revenge and confusion reign as one tribe prepares for Tribal Council. Who is next to go? If just MM goes to tribal council, who in that tribe has any reason to want revenge on Rich? All the tribe members are from different seasons of the show. The same can be said for the other two tribes. If Saboga went to tc, who wants revenge on somebody else? Maybe Jerri wants revenge on Rupert for building the crappy shelter, but that's a stretch. What about Chapera? I don't see any reason why anybody on that tribe would want revenge on another. If, say, Chapera gets to go to tribal council to vote out a member of MM, then you have Sue getting revenge on Rich.

FWIW, I went back and paused it a couple of times, and could only make out 4 torch-heads, although Shii-Ann is blocking things a little bit on the right side of the screen. Another thing I thought was interesting was in the shot immediately prior to the "torches", the camera panned down on Rich, sitting by himself, alone on his log "throne".
