Being in Dirty Dancing is at the very least better than what anyone else from CI besides Hedley are doing. So good on her. The only other person skill kind of in the spotlight is Eva with her new video and radio airplay. If you mentioned the name Eva Avila to some random they'd know who it was. Anyone else not so much. So depressing.

Personally right now I'll just be focused on indie music from contestants I enjoyed. Amberly is working on her album now and I'll get Carly Rae's on Boxing Day, yay sales.

I kind of hope Carly Rae has another radio single. Fontana North actually isn't that bad, that "Private Dancer" dude Danny Fernandes is signed to Fontana North and he's getting radio airplay too.

I'm not counting him out, people just don't know him yet. Maybe when his single comes out if it gets a lot of airplay they might. That said I don't know if he will have mass appeal, or be played on the really popular radio stations. I can't see him appealing to people in my age group for example, aside from the ones that actually watch CI which is very few. Unfortunately a certain demographic drives popular music these days and depending on Theo's music he may or may not appeal to them.

It's not that he's not talented, it's just that his style of music may not be catching or appealing enough for the fans of the chart toppers these days.

As for him being successful I'm a pessimist, but I would like to be wrong about him as he is very talented. It's just a bad time for him to be coming out as a new artist in Canada though. I mean Eva was actually very popular when her first CD came out and sold like 80 K, and she managed to get airplay this time but not even close to the same volume of sales and that will unfortunately probably cut her career short. I can't see Theo getting the same kind of airplay she got, and I'm really not sure how his sales will go. I think Theo's career will suffer a very unfortunate fate just due to the time that he's debuting. Add to that the fact that he won't even have CI to promote him and let fans of the show know what he's got going on. His sales are really going to be hurt. Canada barely pays attention to their own talent as it is, but it's only going to be worse at this point in time.

It's unfortunate but true. Him or anyone else can have all he talent and determination in the world and it doesn't matter. It just isn't a time for new artists, and it isn't a time for Canadian artists especially.

I hope that one day Canada gets back to appreciating their own talent and that new artists will have a chance again. Only time will tell though.

Basically don't get your hopes up too high and if he's not as successful as you wish for him to be, just know it has nothing to do with his talent, it's out of his control. Enjoy his music for yourself.
