(Edgic disclaimer - I am neither an experienced edgician, or someone who took this largely into consideration while writing it. Still, I tried it out and got a pretty good result, so hopefully it works.)
Cast profiles:
Anime Tribe:
- Gaku - Sukisho
Pros - On paper, he's a pretty good competitor. One of the stronger members of the Anime Tribe, and while he hides it well, he's quite intelligent as
well. Strong socially, he's probably gonna make a lot of friends here.
Cons - The biggest one is pretty easy: he's very bad with secrets, and he won't be thinking strategically at all times, unlike some other players.
Still, it's always possible he surprises us.
Overall rating: Unless he makes a very bad move early or plays too emotionally, he's probably making the merge.
- Hitomi - Loveless
Pros - She's gonna be the "mother" of the tribe, for sure. She's no dumby, and while not as strategic as some of her counterparts, she could
still make the right moves at the right time.
Cons - Unfortunately, she can be quite emotional and weak willed at times, which could hurt her chances. However, her biggest issue of all is simple: she's
weak. Not an athlete at all, and all in all, probably the weakest on the tribe.
Overall rating: Most likely an early boot, but she can do well if she flies under the radar and gets into an early alliance.
- Kaoru - Ouran High School Host Club
Pros - Without a doubt, he's one of the best social players in the game. He's not going to make many people mad at him without reason. He's also
quite smart, and if the others underestimate him, he'll take full advantage of that. He won't be afraid to use people, either.
Cons - If he uses the wrong people, that could backfire on him totally. Additionally, he comes from a very privileged background, and if he doesn't adapt
quickly, he'll be viewed as a weakness.
Overall rating: If he adapts quickly, he's probably gonna be here for the long hall. Not noticeably weak in any category, he's in good shape to make
merge unless he makes a strategic blunder.
- Koizumi - The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Pros - Strategy, strategy, strategy. He's quite smart, and probably one of the best strategic players in the cast. He'll be avoiding as much
confrontation as he can, while at the same time trying to control the game.
Cons - If others notice how big a threat he is, they could turn on him very quickly. He also might be viewed as a "suck up" by some, due to his ever
pleasant façade and tendency to agree with everyone. And let's face it, this isn't particularly false, either.
Overall rating: If he plays too hard too early, he could easily be booted before the merge. Unless, of course, he's already snuck his way into a power
position by then. Still, he's probably going to be targeted a lot.
- Miriallia - Gundam Seed
Pros - First off, she's lived in Orb or an Orb colony for her entire life, which could help her out with the environment. She's smart and organized,
along with being strong socially.
Cons - With a strong Anime Tribe, she is likely one of the weaker contestants, always a potential downfall. She's not one of the best strategists, either,
so if she's on the wrong side of some people, she could be doomed quickly.
Overall rating: Likely targeted early, but if she flies under the radar and avoids that or any strategic mistake, she has potential to go far.
- Nenene - R.O.D. the TV
Pros - Well, she's smart, in both the book and street smart sense. I doubt she'll be opposed to backstabbing if the need arises, but she won't do
it needlessly, either. But she won't make this as obvious as some of the others do.
Cons - Like Miriallia, she's not weak, but she's not that strong either, which could work against her if the weakest get picked off. Also, her
personality could rub people the wrong way; she's not above getting into arguments or calling people out if she disagrees with them.
Overall rating: She's smart, but could go early if she gets into too many fights with the wrong people. Otherwise, she's probably gonna do well.
- Winry - Fullmetal Alchemist
Pros - Of all the women on the Anime Tribe, Winry's the strongest of them all, which gives her a leg up on the others. She's certainly not stupid,
either, she'll do what she needs to.
Cons - Like Nenene, she has a bit of a temper, and if she fights with the wrong people at the wrong time, it could spell disaster.
Overall rating: Probably not an immediate target, but any time after that is fair game.
- Yuki - Fruits Basket.
Pros - Smart, strong, polite (unless certain people back home are involved…), handsome, what more do you need? He could very easily be the "golden
boy" of the tribe.
Cons - All those pros he has could very easily work against him. People are bound to notice he's a threat, which may prove damaging. Additionally, he
doesn't possess the greatest social skills, and could appear somewhat closed off to the other contestants.
Overall rating: 9 out of 10 times he'll go far in the game, but with this particular tribe, could this be the 1 other time?
Toon Tribe:
- Daria - Daria
Pros - She's smart, and is definitely one of the Toon Tribe's resident strategists. She won't take crap from anyone in the game, and will
definitely not be content with anything less than the best.
Cons - She's weak, but not as bad as others on the tribe, and her personality could make enemies easily. And with a number of other people smarter than her
on the tribe, maybe her brains aren't as valuable as the first seem?
Overall rating: Very hard to tell. She could be booted early if the wrong people get in power, or she could make it to the very end. It's up in the
air.
- Ed - Ed, Edd, 'n' Eddy
Pros - He's strong. Very, very strong. In fact, he's the strongest in the game, bar none. Also, he's not exactly bright, which could lead to people
keeping around since he's not threatening. And his close friend, Edd, being on the same tribe is gonna help him out in the brains department a lot.
Cons - As mentioned above, he's pretty dumb. Not that great of a social player, he could very easily get on people's nerves. And while his strength may
be great in the beginning, the longer he stays, the more his strength becomes a threat.
Overall rating: Likely he'll make the merge, but he's probably going to be targeted soon after that by a lot of people.
- Edd - Ed, Edd, 'n' Eddy
Pros - The opposite of his friend Ed, Edd is very intelligent. On this tribe, his brains are rivaled only by Jimmy. He'll be a strategist, too, doing what
he needs to survive in the game. And, of course, he has Ed with him, which should help him out tremendously.
Cons - He's the weakest on the tribe, bar none. And on a tribe without a lot of physical strength, that will likely hurt him a lot. Add his intelligence to
that, and people will be targeting him early on.
Overall rating: Definitely an early target, but if he gets into power early, he could make merge and become less of a target.
- Jimmy - The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron
Pros - As mentioned in Edd's profile, he's one of the smartest on the tribe. While this isn't a guarantee of strategic prowess, he could be
dangerous if he makes the right moves at the right times.
Cons - He's not that strong, but not nearly as bad as others. And while he's confident in his brains, it could also backfire on him at some point if he
overthinks a situation.
Overall rating: Not likely to be an early target unless he makes himself one, so he should be safe until the merge.
- Mac - Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends
Pros - On first glance, Mac is just ordinary. Not weak, not strong, not stupid, not incredibly intelligent. This, in fact, may be Mac's best advantage; he
won't stand out as either a threat or a weakness and could easily cruise his way into the end game.
Cons - If people notice his strategy, they could take him out. And if he makes a wrong alliance, he'd likely have trouble recovering from it, due to his
kind of game.
Overall rating: Unless he makes some sort of major blunder, he'll most likely make the merge.
- Numbah 5 - Codename: Kids Next Door
Pros - She's one of the better players on paper, honestly. She's smart, strong, social and adaptable to boot. But unlike some others, she doesn't
make this explicitly obvious.
Cons - Similar to Yuki, she could easily be perceived as a threat (rightfully so), and this could cause some of the others to try to take her out before
she's able to run away with the game.
Overall rating: She'll probably go far, unless people pick up on how much of a threat she really is.
- Stacy - Daria
Pros - While she may seem shallow at first glance, there is some hidden intelligence, and if people underestimate her, it might bite them. Her acting skills
are good as well, which she could put to good use.
Cons - Well, first off, she's neither that strong nor that smart, which definitely hinders her. And honestly, she might not be ready for roughness of the
game mentally, if her normal life is any indication.
Overall rating: Looks good for an early boot, but she may in fact surprise us by going the distance.
- Vicky - Fairly Odd Parents
Pros - Vicky is one of the stronger people in the game, which is very good for a tribe like this one that doesn't have much strength otherwise. She'll
take the lead, and if things go well, she'll get credit and could last a while.
Cons - Except, um, the fact that she's loud, rude, obnoxious, and many more unpleasant words. She'll definitely rub people the wrong way, but how many
remains to be soon.
Overall rating: If she manages to get a few weak-willed members on her side, she could go far, but otherwise, she'll go very quickly.
