/Hugs FTO back.
The night before I was out partying and drinking and when I came home I saw something was wrong with him because he was drooling from the mouth and didn't look right. So me and my sister called 911 and they transfured us to to like a pet 911 and the abulance came (my parents did not like that an ambulance came and all of that, but they were not answering their phones and we didn't know what to do). When we got to the vet, they told us his tummy was twisted and bloated. He had to be put down. I felt like it was a punishment for me going out and underaged drinking. |

I participated in a fundraiser for our local animal rescue this past summer. Our team raised the most money and won a private showing of a movie at the local
theater. Since it's all dog related, we chose to wait and see Marley & Me and went this morning. You think your theater was crying!? Imagine a bunch of
crazed dog lovers in there. I think the last 30 minutes was sobbing. I only cried a little bit. I even caught my husband wiping his eyes with the cuff of his
sleeve. Cry baby.
It's not a terrible movie, but it's not Oscar worthy either. The dog is funny and it movies along pretty quickly through their lives. I found it distracting that it was so easy to tell the different "Marleys" apart. But like I said, I'm part of a group of crazy dog people. If you love dogs and can cope with that whole 'Circle of Life' thing, I think you'd like it. At least put it on Netflix. |

sorry bout your dog Amy!
Is this movie as tearjerkery as "Homeward Bound?" Because I don't even really like dogs but everytime I see that movie I always lose it at the very end when the old golden retriever comes hobbling out of the woods, and then the look on the boys face...:::sob::: |

Thanks Holly. Yeah, it was a mixture of the same thing happend to my dog and the movie on why I was crying. I told my sister and she said "I'm glad I
didn't see it then", she had a breakdown after that happend and it was scary because it was not like her at all.

Homeward Bound was tear jerky? It was a Disney movie! How could the dog not come out of the woods, even if he was hobbling on three legs.
And this movie is much more of a tearjerker than that. I'd venture to say that it's even more so than "My Dog Skip," considering in that movie we're only told what happened to Skip while Willie was in college. In "Where the Red Fern Grows" and "Old Yeller," it was sort of inevitable that the dogs had to die because of what happened to them physically. In this movie, its a lot more painful to watch because there really isn't a dramatic reason (such as being bitten by a rabid animal or getting in a fight for protecting their owner) for why Marley passes. He's simply old and suffers from what many old dogs suffer from while in the good care of their owners. In "Skip," we're told that he passes because of old age, but its done off-screen. Here we actually see it happen and what the events were that lead up to that point, which is much harder to watch, especially for anyone who's ever had a dog before. Speaking of "Skip," anyone else notice that both Wilson brothers have now starred in very sad dog movies? |

Oh I forgot about MDS.
Why don't they make any tearjerky Cat movies for all the cat lovers? |

I finally saw Marley & Me. It was tough because I recently had to put my awesome yellow lab down June 9th 2008. Marley looked just like my dog when he was
being put down and Owen acted the same way I did. I personally went to see the movie alone because I knew I was going to be a wreck. I'm not a Jennifer
Aniston fan but it was nice seeing her nipples again.

I found Skip sadder than Marley. At least Marley died with his owners and lived a happy life. Skip was alone for half his life and died alone missing his best
friend.
Gah, I don't like thinking about it. I'm going to pat my dog... |
