Remove this ad I've always been a geography buff, and this idea of ranking something related to the 193 world countries has always been floating in my mind. It now looks like Wuming is going to be ranking the 193 world countries soon <333 I am going to start ranking the 193 world flags shortly. It's the only world flag consisting of one color, with no insignia or any type of design. I am all for simplicity, but this is taking simplicity to a whole new level Green is the national color of Libya (oh, really? I would never have guessed from this) and also symbolizes the country's devotion to Islam, as well as Gaddafi's Green Revolution. Thus, while not lacking in symbolism and meaning <3 (quite impressive how you can express so much with just 1 color), it's still too bizarre to rank any higher than, uh, 193rd.

The juxtaposition of the colors is extremely pleasing (green symbolizes richness of soil, yellow mineral riches, white = peace, black = Africa, etc). It features an open book = education <333 and I believe it's the only flag to have a book on it. (which is totally badass). Unfortunately, there is just one little disturbing detail you can't help but notice immediately. There is a rifle on the flag. An AK-47 to be precise. And it kinda ruins the flag for me, unfortunately. This is the only flag in the world to feature a rifle on it. It's meant to symbolize the struggle of the Mozambique people's movement for independence, which is understandable, but there is something so raw, so brutal about it, it's definitely a turn off. Interestingly, in 2005 the Opposition in the Parliament tried to have the rifle removed from the flag, but the project was shot down (no pun intended) by the party in control of the parliament, as well as lack of public support.

Having to share your national flag with another country's = epic fail.

Singapore flag ftw, kthx! And I'll be ranking 197 countries and disputed territories, by the way. :p ETA: The Indonesia/Monaco flag isn't showing for me... :o
