Does anyone watch this show. I am always amazed over how little some people are willing to kill for.

I watched a few episodes...and that's exactly why I don't watch that show anymore.
It makes me sick. |

I watch the show. Seems like they are here in Memphis quite often.
I feel like if I go down to 201 Poplar and see Caroline Mason, Tony Mullins, or Toney Armstrong, I'd ask for an autograph and a picture... |

I love this show. My favorite detectives are all the ones from Tennessee. I love high maintenance Caroline Mason and pouty lip Tony Mullins. The crew from Miami are all great too. |

I adore the Phoenix cop, Schecterli, who had his face & arms burned off in an atuo accident. He has a horribly disfigured face & fused fingers but
damned if that man doesn't carry his detective duties like nothing is wrong. He's a real fighter. His family is adorable & very supportive too.

Perhaps thats why she always goes out in the field, lookin her best. Hair, nails, heels, lipstick lol.
I was watching the marathon this New Years Day. The episode "gone" (i think its a new one) was good. Heartbreak, suspense, the guy was one step ahead of them the whole time. I nearly cried when the detective had to tell the family that he begged and pleaded for the samuri nutcase to tell them where the body was. He wasn't crazy. He knew exactly what he was sayin' in interrogation. Who knows how many others went missing at his hands. |

It's fucking impossible to find a coherent episode guide for this show. My cable guide shows 2 new eps this week, but according to the mess that is the A&E website, one of them (the 8 pmer) is from last season. Yet another site shows one of the After The First 48 eps as having replaced the 8 pmer in the regular schedule last season, so I'm guessing maybe they're just burning one off before the regular season 9 ep at 9 pm. Fuck it, I'll record it - I still haven't watched last week's yet anyway. |

All I know is that they marathon the old episodes all day on Thursdays and show the new ones like at 8 PM or something.

I love the marathons they have. Good enough reason to sew my butt to the sofa for an afternoon. If they do an American Justice or Cold Case files marathon,
I'm just as done.

I love Caroline Mason, she's my girl! I love how she can turn so-called tough guys into simpering blobs of Jell-O.
This ep was either the first or second season but the most depressing one I ever saw was a murder in Miami where a five year old boy saw the killing and his family wouldn't let him talk to the police for fear of retaliation. That is no way for a child to live, my heart just bleeds for those ghetto kids who are subject to this shit every day. |

The more brutal Lester Street Murders episode here in Memphis was actually MORE gruesome than the show actually focused on. Hearing the story unfold on the
news here in Memphis back during the time as it happened and watching The First 48's rendition were like two totally different things.
First of all, think about it....if the adult victims were simply found shot to death in the house, normally, officers would have no problem inviting the crew in the house to film because it would be like any other shooting they've shown before. What you did see was Lt. Armstrong and Sgt. Mullins suiting up in Hazmat type suits and Armstrong telling the uniformed officers that NO ONE should walk through the door to the scene, regardless of rank, besides the people who were suited up. Why would he say that unless the situation was more grim than first expected? Also, if you noticed his facial expressions before and after discovering the bodies, Armstrong looked distraught for the entire episode. Obviously, he had seen something that shocked even him despite all his years of investigating murders. The First 48 portrayed the killings as just mere shootings of the victims. I remember when the story was unfolding, there was a local tabloid site here in Memphis where the guy who made the site had obtained the autopsy photos of one of the women who were killed in the house. I personally didn't get a chance to see the site before the police ordered he shut it down and risked being charged for obstruction, but from others' accounts, this particular girl died with a look of utter shock on her face. A more detailed story of what happened spread around Memphis....apparently, they said three of the four adults were shot, the girl who died with the look of shock on her face was smothered while being severely stabbed to the point of disembowelment, and the little kids who were found with stab wounds were also mutilated. It was waaaaaay more awful to hear the story locally than to review The First 48's rendition of the encounter. |

random start of season 9 bump They're in Miami tonight, and the victim was so messed up the cops were even kind of shocked. Remember people - don't get drunk, sneak out of your own birthday party, hit the ATM in the middle of the night and go try to buy coke! That's like the fiftieth time that's happened on this show. |
