tar 9's opening shot/intro/phil was so epic that i couldn't turn away. <3 it when the beggining of each season has a fast shot with fast music
rather than slow music.

I fell in love with TAR when Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeny took his beloved Karyn to the Notre Dame and narrowly escaped elimination. That was when I got totally hooked (that or "that's Namibia, jackass") but I realised I was going to keep watching as soon as I started mentally booing Rob/Brennan for saying that no other team would make it to Fast Forward, only for Dave/Margaretta to prove them wrong. I had no idea that 13 seasons later, that team would end up one of the better winners |

oh ehm gee |

Since then it's been meh, <3, HATE, <333, HATE, nice with bullshit ending, meh, HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE, meh; they wouldn't have won if any of the legs involved driving about (omg had Moscow 1 been all driving, it would've been the shit) Oh, and the TAR2 intro (SUVs racing in the desert) is still the best one ever. |

The first episode I ever saw was TAR4 Ep. 1. A friend of mine had been pestering me to watch the show, so I decided to give it a shot and was hooked instantly.
Its also where I fell in love with my favorite all-time team that no other team can possibly surpass, Jon & Kelly.
By the time episode 3 of TAR4 aired I had already downloaded and watched all of TAR1, 2 and 3. |

Ok., don't laugh but...
My first episode was in season 9. I didn't have a TV or cable for about 6 years at the time. I remember a friend at a old job used to talk about the Amazing Race and how awesome it was... and I always just assumed it was some sort of car-racing show. One day I was over at my boyfriend's place and he was about to jump in the shower. He put on an episode of Amazing Race for me to watch to keep me busy - and I was hooked! It was the episode where they were in Italy, and they were running through the streets with giant fish. We were actually going out somewhere... and we were late because I refused to leave before seeing the end. After that I watched every episode of season 9, and then downloaded seasons 1-8 and watched them in record time. It was right about then I realized I couldn't get enough so I went online and found Sucks! I'm so glad I did :D |

Keeping this thread alive after a SUPER boring 2 weeks of no TAR greatness, I managed to find this out of the Sucks board and got interested with it...
I first got hooked with TAR during Season 2. I can recall, I was eleven years old then. It was 2001, the third episode when the Gutsy Grannies got eliminated. Many of my classmates and schoolmates then were even laughing about how the Gutsy Grannies seem to miss their flight and they were their "favorite" team and were excessively laughing about it. It was my most unforgettable experience of TAR, and it was because I was bored - so I watched TV and coincidentally opened to AXN. The rest is History. I followed Season 1 when AXN aired a marathon about it, and followed the show religiously. I quit watching Survivor or any other reality show as of the moment. In fact, TAR (And TAR Asia for that matter) is the only reality show that I watch continuously. Even though we had switched to a LAME CABLE SERVICE PROVIDER THAT DOESN'T AIR AXN, I managed to get torrents and even have my own virtual library of recent TAR seasons - of course to fill in to my needs and demands when I'm bored or simply having that "racey feeling." Whenever I get no classes - which Mondays became perfect for me, (TAR airs EARLY Monday mornings in the Philippines) I even wake up early just for it even I don't have classes. By the seventh season, It got me completely hooked and addicted - regardless of how ugly or best the current season was airing. Somehow, I managed to get an account in online forums by the time the fourteenth season airs and is now talking about his experiences of the magical and greatest reality show on earth - THE AMAZING RACE. I do hope there's extremely many more seasons to come- How I wish I could participate in TAR(A) in the future! |

Because you watch TAR on free TV, Bryanpasa. If you could watch re-runs, you should have AXN.

I wish I had AXN when I lived in Asia. I watched a lot of StarTV out of HongKong which played the same shows over and over.

We got StarTV and watched alot of the cartoon network and some 5 nations rugby, but the amazing race hadn't happend yet. I first watched the amazing race about 3 episodes into the first season. My wife has seen every single episode, she is the one who got me to watch it. |

Season 1, episode 1. Interesting note, I thought "Lost" would be a biggger hit because the players there decided their own race course.
