Yes, they still put their babies in pageants, but they weren't as psycho or as obnoxious and delusional as the majority of chicks on this show have been. Their one little girl biting it and freezing on stage. <3 And I agree, I don't know how that lil fat kid won, or why they would put such skin tight clothes on her. Oh yeah and when the chick who runs the pageant announces the fun facts about the current contestant on stage and says "so and so's lifes ambition is to be just like her mom" How in the fuck do they know a 6 month old baby's life ambition? Seriously? What the hell is that all about? lol

Seeing the moms that are all frumpy and their kids all done up, wonder why they're doing pageants. And those girls are so spoilled. Imagine what they're like at school.

And sorry, highlighting your daughters hair and curling it - does not make her pretty. Maybe when you pay for the crowns, but in real life, she is quite ugly. I watch this and root for the 'natural' kid - even though they are all pretty much done up too. At least no flippers, fake tans, shaven legs or highlights.

On the one hand at least the parents are dedicating some time to their children and have an interest in seeing them do well. And most of the girls seem to enjoy the pageants and want to do it. The babies of course have no choice so that's just weird, but the older girls are learning to compete and to take pride in their appearances. Then on the other hand some of the parents care too much if their daughter's don't win. And some of the make-up and hair-do's and spray tans are just too, too much, not to mention the focus on looks rather than brains. I kinda just sit and watch fascinated by the spectacle of it all.

Posts: 517 (03/04/09 7:02 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	Yes I agree.My daughter was in dance and she had fun, acqiured confidence and enjoyed the other girls.They all wore the same outfits so there was no competition to look better.And the dance recitals were just to showcase what they learned all year with no prizes etc. Like some have said these girls are not that great looking so those parents who spend the most on tans teeth and outrageously expensive outfits have the winner kids.I find it disturbing too. And the little 4 year old with the big mouth?OMG lol.She was way beyond spoiled.

Child beauty pageants are so creepy and the girls look less like budding beauties, and more like drag queens of the worst variety.

The teen and over 18 pageants are much different than the choreographed nonsense that goes into the sickening kiddie pageants. These kids don't even get any real skills from these pagents. The way they perform and the way they teach them to walk and model and perform is only applicable in the pagent world (and the kiddie pagent world at that). If a kid takes dance or piano or soccer they at least get skills that they can use and learn the value of teamwork. Not the value of a fake tan or that everyone hates their bad teeth.

What could be CUTER than a six year old kid with no front teeth????? The stupid moms who stand up and do the routines from the audience? I want to KILL. The fat, sloppy moms who spend WAAAAAY to much on the clothes, tans, manicures, etc. for these kids make me want to PUKE. What exactly are we telling these girls? That the only way to "win" is to have cute clothes,do a little posing and fake smiling? The kids with the CRAPPIEST AND BRATIEST personality always seem to do well. The one crazy psycho mom who dressed her kid up in camoflage (sp?) and had her parade around with a freaking SNAKE was one of the worst yet. Still, I keep watching this train wreck...

I pretty much expect that behavior from mothers with daughters in the pageants, but a boy. That was disturbing. His "outfit of choice" was and that "dance" he did was... well, there are really no words. Did anyone see the girl from last week... the little one that kept telling her parents to "SHUT UP"!!

Posts: 223 (03/18/09 8:48 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	I watched this for the first time a week or so ago, and I was weirded out by the moms, just like I expected to be, but I was so encouraged that the featured pageant was emphasizing the more natural look. I thought maybe, just maybe, the whole pageant world had changed. Then I saw last night's episode, and there were the little girls doing the little flirty walks and the shimmying shoulder bit, and there we were, right back in the days of Jon Benet. I really don't know where those hairstyles come from...has anyone, even miss america contestants or country/western stars of the 70's, ever worn their hair in that tower-of-curls 'do? It's like a whole fantasy world....a very creepy, wtf kinda fantasy world.
