So pretty much why the fuck cast herI've pretty much gotten over Probst's taste in "favorites". But yeah. Obviously, someone has to be the first boot. But if you're that sure it's going to be a certain player, why bother.

I'm almost certain that the two voted out based on first impressions will just return to their own tribes with immunity for their first TC's. The cast
pick is taken pre-game and all are on original tribes. The tribe pics look a couple days in with the same composition of tribes as in the cast pic.
I think both tribes vote someone out..they stay behind or go to exile where Probst explains they now have immunity at their first TCs and then they return to their own camps and the game plays out. No one is leaving before the first actual TC and no one is switching tribes. it's just a new way of giving 2 people immunity at the beginning like Gabon, Micronesia and Palau. |

I get the idea that Sandy was thrown from Timbira, partly due to the comment that Tyson has already made about her in first impressions, and the fact she is the old lady of the tribe. I think it might be Candace or Deb (the other older lady) that was ousted from Jalapao to join Timbira. I think Stephen also made the extra effort to make Sandy feel welcome in the new tribe and has his arm around her in the picture. What bothers me is simply the clothes, though. Everyone is so obviously matchy-matchy with their tribe color. If anyone switched tribes, wouldn't we be able to tell instantly simply from what they were wearing? |

SurvivorNinja wrote:I never even thought about rewarding the first chosen to leave, with immunity for the first tribal council. Definitely possible, but to me it goes against the grain for the premise of Survivor. Why reward someone who has the worst first impression by giving them immunity on your tribe? PrettyGoodYear, I had forgotten about the fact that they all get off the truck ready for the journey in the color-coded clothes for their respective tribe. So I guess there is no tribe switch with the players. I would imagine that the chosen from each tribe just have to miss the journey and the bonding of the tribe in the first part of the competition. And it will also set off players against each other from the beginning. It is interesting in that they will have to show some of the interactions of the players before they even speak to each other. edited to add: HALLELUJIAH, Bush's last day!

They prolly color coordinated them so that they would realize who was on their tribe and be able to make a "stronger" first impression. But who
knows.

I can see them swapping them and then giving them immunity, but why would you purposefully reward someone for being weak or giving a bad impression? That goes
beyond an unfair twist to just fucking up the game.

They haven't necessarily given a bad impression..just that they are being misjudged..lets say Sandy and Debra get "voted out" based on the fact
that on paper they could be seen as the weakest. They didn't so much make a bad impression as they were just judged prematurely as weak. This twist helps
give them a chance to prove themselves. Switching one person to the other tribe before they really get to know their original tribe is just lame and
unnecessary.

Stranded wrote: This wouldn't be the first time. Bruce, Lisi and Sugar where all 'rewarded' with Immunity when they weren't picked for tribes. The difference with those 3 is that they missed Tribal Council because they were all in Exile. Also Lil and Burton were immune at their first Tribal Council even though they had both been voted out of the game. |

I can see them swapping them and then giving them immunity, but why would you purposefully reward someone for being weak or giving a bad impression?Because they saw how epic it was when KrazyKathy couldn't be the first obvious boot and MaryWho left instead. The pointless Gabon immunities were much worse since they gave unnecessary immunity to people who had virtually zero chance of being voted off first because they were the most athletic people. |

After countless seasons of Survivor, things fall into a pattern. I'm going to call it right now.
4 women first boots. Jury stage will boot all strong men, except maybe one. All the little girls make it to the end. 3 person finale, 1 man and 2 women, and the man wins. There. Season spoiled. Oh, and one of the black women will spill rice, wag her finger in god's name in someone's face, and be very very angry for all her 4 episodes. |
