Okay, more info.... Debbie did not use rehab as an excuse for being away. She simply disappeared for 2 months. Those close to her knew that she was probably gone for Survivor. Those that didn't formed rumors. And the rumor most circulated was rehab. It was just the best reason they could come up with. I hear she has quite a personality. Very spirited and the kids at school all love her. |

lol - She "simply disappeared" for two months, and no one thought maybe she was dead in a ditch somewhere?
Anyways, was she skinny/tanned/bugbitten when she simply reappeared? Aside from her middle school skills, Auburn is obviously a college town, with far more than the usual proportion of 18-21-year-olds. Anyone who lives there is going to have experience being around that age group. |

They tried to make Debbie Beebe go to rehab but she said no, no, no.

lol Bob simply disappeared too. No one looked for him in a ditch. His friends knew where he was.
Anyways, was she skinny/tanned/bugbitten when she simply reappeared? Gee, I forgot to ask. Excuse my ignorance. I graduated from Auburn, and was around plenty of the 18-21 year olds. To me, that has nothing to do with being around young children. Unless you choose to party with them, and then they digress.

On second thought, I'm not asking anyone to believe me.

Agreed with Lakelady. Just because you're in college doesn't mean that you interact with third graders on a regular basis. And especially not with
their principal.
The only interaction I can think of her having with college students is volunteer tutors or student teachers in their senior year of their education degree. |

Yes, I understand that college students don't routinely hang out with middle schoolers. (?)
My point is, this survivor contestant, for this season touted as being opened to 18-21-year-olds, by the fact of where she lives, spends more time around people in that age group than most 40-year-olds. It's just the nature of her town. If there are many younger adults in the cast, I believe that will be an advantage for her over a 40-year-old from, say, Birmingham. |

There's an interview with Lynne Spillman where she made an interesting comment on the 18-year-olds- they don't think most of the under-21s are actually
ready for the show, but they lowered the age limit primarily so that they could get the apps on hand so they could call them back a year or two later.

Living in a college town does not increase your interaction with college aged students. What part don't you understand about that?

lol - The part where you go to the grocery store? The gym? A restaurant? Church? The median age in Auburn is 23. Almost half the population is aged 18-24. You
pretty much can't swing a dead parrot without hitting a college-aged person. (Yes, I have been there and I have done that.)
Obviously, anyone is capable of isolating themselves, of having no understanding of probability, or of acting obnoxiously for no particular reason. Those folks tend to get booted sooner. We'll have to wait and see... |

I'm 19 and I think I'm mature for my age, at least I live on my own, I work with older people and am good friends with them, most of them being over
twice my age. All of my friends are older than I am, however I honestly don't know if I'm confident enough to go up against someone who is
significantly older than I am. I don't know if that makes sense, but... I still have respect for people older than myself and I think it might be awkward
strategizing and voting people out who are in their 40s-50s. Even people in their 30s would be strange.
