So we've already had Pearl Islands 2, Pearl Islands 3, Palau 2, and Africa 2. Now Amazon 2? They must really have no other choices.

Not to be nitpicking or anything, but despite the season taking place on the same continent, I don't think you can really classify this current season as "Africa 2", like it was a location they re-used because they were running out of options. The environment is MUCH different from the dustbowl where they were in season 3, and it's not like the two locations are even that close to each other. It isn't like Panama & Palau where they literally had tribes using the exact same camps as were used previously. If Burnett had had the foresight back in 2001 to know how long-running his show would be and that he'd have the opportunity to return to Africa, I'm sure he would have just called it Survivor: Kenya anyways.

You have no idea how worried I was that that's what it would end up being! I kept thinking back to those interviews with Probst a few years ago where he said the reason they went back to Panama a 3rd time for season 12 was because of how difficult and harsh the filming conditions had been in Guatemala. He said that after that season, everybody involved with the show wanted to go someplace easier and "familiar", so they ended up back in Panama. After all the stories started coming out about how difficult a time the crews were having while filming in Gabon, and keeping in mind the general region that they were in, I though for sure the stage was set for yet another return to Panama.
