So, I would actually be willing to travel down there, and be the guide, since I was born there, but live here now. How crazy would it be to get 5 or people to travel down there for this experience. Funny that I almost made to the finals last month, and now in retrospect can understand that there would impossible for someone from Brazil to be casted for this show - huge target on their back. Interested?

Alton Desiree, 38, was part of an "advance team for a future production," according to a CBS statement. He "drowned in the Rio Novo River in a remote section of Brazil" where he "was swimming during his lunch break with other members of his team when the accident occurred," CBS said. He'd worked on the show during the past three seasons (Gabon, Micronesia, and China), and lived in Loubiere, Dominica, with his wife and two kids. According to one early news report, he left home for Brazil on Sept. 9 and died Sept. 15, but it also suggests he died after being "instructed to go underwater to fix something of the show." The first Survivor Gabon episode ended with a title card dedicating the episode to his memory. In CBS' statement, Jeff Probst said, "Words cannot describe the shock and grief felt by all of us on the show. Alton has been with us on the last three editions of 'Survivor.' He always had a signature big smile, possessed an infectious warm spirit and was very popular with his fellow crew members. You can't possibly describe a harder-working and more well-liked colleague. Our heartfelt prayers and sympathies are extended to his wife, children and family for this terrible loss." Hmm, I wonder if that's actually how it went down, or if CBS is saying that it happened while he was "swimming during his lunch break" so that they'll seem less responsible. What an awful thing to happen.

I think that whether he was instructed to go underwater or not, he wouldn't want the production to be blamed or anything like that for any accident that did happen. It's just an accident, I mean it was bound to happen with the amount of crew members and to dangerous places they go to, it just sucks that it did happen.

The desert is really mesmerizing and its really far away from Amazon. The two locations apart from each other more then 4000 km. Brazil is a really large country; each place is unique. You can see that in Amazing Race; the cities and the vegetations are really different. You'd be able to make about five Survivor over here and each of them would be very different. If I lived near the location I would deffinitly go around and try to get in touch with the crew. Too bad I'm very far from there. Anyway.. I think it'd be very interesting to name the show Survivor: Jalapão. You americans would be frustrated to try to say this name. btw, we have a lot of brazilians over here. oO Anyone from the community on Orkut or Reality Show for Dummies?
