After meeting Sydney in a bar, casting producer Erica "called … a couple times" for previous seasons, Sydney said, and "she finally called me again and I had nothing going on, done with school, so yeah, I'm here." Why do the show? "With school, I was done. Now I'm doing modeling full-time. In a way, I want to be successful in modeling, and in a way, this is putting my face out in public.Not only was she recruited, but casting goddess Erika Shay has been trying to get her to do Survivor for yeasrs. They gave her DVDs of 4 seasons to watch - two with Amanda, and two with Amber - so she has two great role models to emulate. I mean role models for her, since she seems like a competent player and nice girl but without that spark of strategic or entertainment brilliance.

She HAS to be smart enough to see Amanda collapse at the final tribal council and not follow that route. Maybe she wants to be like Amanda in the sense that
she will play a good social/strategical game and then NOT be a pathetic bitch in the final tribal.
