I love Fox shows, so I'm watching!
Plus, I really like Tim Roth. I'm hoping there are enough differences between this and The Mentalist to make it not seem like I'm watching the same show twice a week. Yeah, I'm an asshole.

Looks like this is the hot new genre in procedural shows, with The Mentalist and Psych already having great success.
I think this one is going to be big too. FOX is really promoting it, and it gets the cushy post-AI timeslot tomorrow. |

I want to like this show but it seems like it would work better as a movie or short 4 episode series. It's going to get boring after a while.

I liked this show better the first time, when it was called Psych
And then the second time when it was called The Mentalist 3 strikes and you're out |

Premiering on FOX, Wednesday, January 21 at 9 pm.
I love "The Mentalist," and "Lie to Me" is supposed to be better???... I'll be watching! Here's a review: "... I'm not sure it's a good sign of critical opinion of a show when a review has to repeatedly let people know it's better than The Mentalist.
Don't watch the show for its own merits, instead bring up The Mentalist over and over, because God knows people can't watch both shows.
One of the show's main producers also took a dig, saying that they have a show where the British actor gets to keep his accent, and Americans think people with British accents are smart. I wonder if that means this producer hates "House", which is one of the biggest shows on the Fox network. Tim Roth is a brilliant actor, and this is what the producer wants to talk about? His accent? Brandon Hines, one of the actors on the show, made sure viewers knew Lie to Me is "real science", while Mentalist is "a scam". Don't you feel better now? You're not watching one of those shows that take your wallet and go party in Vegas. Tim Roth had enough sense to just not talk about Mentalist at all. I still DVRed the show, because I want to see Tim Roth, but what a bunch of insecure dumbasses. |

My Mom FLOVES The Mentalist, but I haven't seen it.
I did watch this tonight--thought it was good, but mostly because Tim Roth is excellent. I'm also trying to pick up some pointers as my oldest just turned 14. Normally when he lies he looks directly at me and doesn't blink but he knows I am onto that, so I expect a change up in strategy. I'll be looking for mouth quivers and a guilty hand position for sure.

Kelli Williams is on this show too, isn't she? She was so bad on The Practice, but I guess she's still attractive enough to get work.
