That IS major big deal.
How the hell did he manage to get him?
Good for him.

Apparently, Josiah's producer for his first album is Nick Launey (whose credits include Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arcade Fire, Public
Image Ltd., Kate Bush, Talking Heads, Midnight Oil, Gang of Four, Grinderman, Silverchair, Lou Reed and Supergrass).

It's definitely the right track for the kind of music he should be going into.
As much as i would have loved to have seen him on Idol, this was defo the best thing to happen to his career. He'll defo be longer lasting than anyone this season. |

Here's a new Josiah Leming song that is so new, it might not be included in his upcoming album from Warner Bros. Records. Here are the lyrics, where Josiah sings about his mother with terminal cancer: Take me to the church where my father and my mother
And take me to the park where we played, the light went dark
Take me to the fields where my father spent his days
And take me to the house where my mother rests her bones
And take me to the church where my father and my mother

He's a damn good song writer, but he would be better served writing for others. I'm sure they will clean up his voice nicely in the studio, but
it's pretty rough to listen to... Though to the same degree, sometimes poignant lyric transcends a pleasant melodious voice. I am curious to see how this
kid does.

I watched TMZ a while ago and they had Josiah trying to get into a finale party for this season but wasn't on the list and they didn't let him in.
Then he made a call on his blackberry ( homeless kid with a blackberry?) and they finally let him in. Also Chris Sligh was not let in either. |

I just watched the clips with his new material and heard some of his older songs. The kid is amazing. I hope they don't touch his voice. It's raw and
imperfect (I know some people don't like the goat vibrato), but it's real. There's hardly a song out there today where the singer's voice
hasn't been glossed over and buried under electronic crap.

I didn't see the TMZ clip. Did he cry like a little bitch when he wasn't let in?

A major label deal doesn't guarantee success (look no further than the plant everyone was ragging on this season for selling less than 400 copies of her CD
with a major deal).
He'll probably be the biggest flop from this season if anything. All that fucking hype and a huge deal like this is going to mean huge expectations and imo I don't see him living up to them sales wise. |

From the songs I've heard, he has the potential to be very successful - not a superstar, but successful. The fact that a lot of people already hate him may be a detriment, but his songs will probably interest a bunch of people who don't even watch Idol. |

I hate his ass on the show and now to hear him ragging on AI makes me hate him even more. he's an arrogant punk with no reason to be that arrogant.
He's nothing we haven't seen before... big fucking deal.
I'm with SHC in that I think he'll end up being a huge failure. |

Assuming his album actually comes out (remember, Christina Christian and Camile Velasco had deals with major labels too--and Jennifer Hudson's album is now
a year overdue) he would be the first Idol contestant ever dumped in the Hollywood rounds to have a CD out on a real label. This would be a huge accomplishment
except that I think his voice sucks and he was justifiably cut. I can't imagine it selling but if he really is a good songwriter and something gets picked
up for airplay maybe it will anyway.

He'll defo be longer lasting than anyone this season. Based on the way he was posting on the VFTW forums, the music industry will eat him alive. He comes across as a little nuts. |

The show has psychiatrists on-site and they probably figured he was too unstable to make it through and didn't want to have to deal with that. Of course, they still let Brooke through but I think she was fine at the time and began the breakdown later. |

I haven't been over to VFTW in a while because the Josiah ass-licking was too much, but he seemed so naive, thinking that all the people befriending him on
Myspace were actually his friends.
