Amberly posted a new video on her Myspace. It's a performance of a new song called "What Happens Next." It's great, I'm so excited to
have new music from Amberly.
She also posted a blog entry about her performances from CI. Apparently her two favourites that she did were "What Am I To You" and "Redemption Song." Yay for "Redemption Song," that was her best performance and my favourite. She never should have been in the bottom 3 after that, it was fucking amazing. There should be more new stuff to look forward to soon as she said she'd be posting teasers before the album comes out.
After watching that performance (about 10 times already) I'm really looking forward to her CD. |

I say we forget AI8 and talk about #%!*!@@ Amberly instead.
I hope her CD is as radio friendly as Carly Rae's and she gets some major airplay. Bonus that it'll torture a certain person everytime her song came on.

Max what do you think of "What Happens Next?" I love it, I can't stop listening to it. Fucking beautiful voice. Screw AI8 indeed. Listening to Amberly's new song is just reminding me of how much American Idol doesn't and has never catered to my taste in music the way CI and OzI do pretty much every year. Megan is probably the closest they've ever come (or nutso Brooke) and she's getting the boot very, very soon so I'm out of luck there. Even so they're like very 2nd rate versions of what I love so much about Theresa, Amberly, Sophie etc. |

With the restrictive themes on Idol it's hard for certain types of singers to sing music that perfectly suits their style. I think she picked great songs and I liked her subtlety and beautiful vocals. I'm still annoyed at how screwed Amberly got. All they needed to do was NOT put her 1st that week and she wouldn't have gone home, terrible outfit notwithstanding. |

I'm listening to it for the second time as I type. I really like it. Actually I think I like it best out of all the songs on her myspace. AI8 is pure crap. Megan's a poor man's Nancy Silverman. I like her but she's a big disappointment. DCook caters to my taste a lot but he's pretty much the only one out of 8 seasons. At least Adam and Kris are hot cause thats about the only reason left to watch. At least on CI & OzI you don't get ripped apart for singing current music. Amberly, Theresa, Jacob, Billy, Chanel Cole, Lisa Mitchell, Pigotts bros, Earl, Mookie, are my taste. Not these 3rd rate Whitney wannabes. Even OzI and CI (very rarely though) can produce better divas than Shrill. Ngaiire, Paulini, Cosima, Anne Robinson, even Shrieky-Lee >>>> Lil.

I totally agree with all of that.
Thanks for pin-pointing a contestant who is sort of like Megan. Poor man's Nancy Silverman indeed. I totally agree about CI/OzI divas being better than these Shrill hacks AI comes out with. I mean fuck Ricki-Lee but I'd rather listen to her on repeat than Shrill any day. Add Lavina, Jessica Mauboy, Toya, Khalila and Mila to your list of divas that OWN Shrill Rounds. I adore the song so much. I like the other songs up on her Myspace but I like this one a lot more. It's really great. |

Yeah that's partly Megan's problem, no technical training. Nancy went to like performing arts school or something.
