Plus they're funnier when I'm actually drooling over a female contestant, which isn't the case this year since AI finally got some hot guys. Back to Carly though, as vain as I am I'd much rather discuss her than myself. Carly <3 I too love that she's a front runner even though in the beginning people were like ZOMG PLANT!!11.

Only Cyndi Lauper can hit those notes, she just came off as yelling. (Not screaming like you know you). Solid performance--she and Ramiele were my faves last night.

Hard to sing a song that Cindy Lauper defines because Cindy's voice is so unique. Beatles should suit Carly (as well as Brooke and Amanda). I think next week should be entertaining. Carly should do well.

I ♥ Carly & really enjoyed her performance of "I Drove All Night". It was a good change of pace from last week & a good song choice. This girl has great musical influences, as she demonstrated last week when she admitted that Crazy on You is her all-time favorite song. I have both original 45rpm singles of Crazy On You & Magic Man by Heart on Mushroom Records. I love Heart & kept a lot of their vinyl. I also have kept IDAN 45 vinyl of Cyndi. Influences are important to me. In fact, one of the reasons I first became a Heart fan was I'd heard they were greatly influenced by Led Zeppelin.

Girl struggles to hit those high notes and when she tries her voice is so thin and shrill it hurts my ears. Yet she gets nothin but mad props. WTF?

I have only heard Cyndi's version of IDAN a few times. I mostly remember the Celine version they used on SYTYCD. Carly has such a great voice but I hope she starts selling the song more and focusing less on worries about hitting the notes. Of course being able to hit notes in this painfully out of tune season may be one of the reasons why she's doing well.
