Brendan/Sierra may have been part of the Exile Alliance, but that actually could have worked for them had Timbira voted out JT first, which was what those two wanted to do originally, as opposed to Coachbag/Tyson/Merhag who exposed themselves as a threesome way too early and unsurprsingly got their asses handed to them.

Erinn and I were tight, but I actually wanted to keep Sierra at least for a little bit and vote out Debbie bc I thought she was a greater threat ... and bc I knew that she was working Erinn really hard (and, in fact, Erinn almost told Debbie we were going to vote her out at the next TC). I floated the idea of getting rid of Debbie first, but Taj, JT and Erinn were dead-set opposed to it.

YES. It was extremely irritating. My only vote (heh, at all). I actually only found out about that as I was returning from an interview right before TC (they often interviewed me last), and didn't have time to talk to them before we left, or I would have talked them out of it. Erinn was going to vote for me and Taj for JT, but Taj at the last second decided she didn't want to put JT's name down either. They wanted Sierra out but also didn't want to actually have to vote for her. I don't even think it was for an admirable/nefarious reason, like jury votes. It was like to express solidarity or something. Deb was -really- pissed about it afterwards because she hadn't heard about it at all, and started a crusade against "vote weasels." That's why I told JT it was okay for him not to vote for Coach when we voted Coach out. I (innaccurately) thought it would hurt him more as a vote weasel - and that's why in my final TC speech I had that bit about how I had voted for everybody who was eliminated.

Then why did Merhag have a shitfit directed at you in the FTC ? It doesn't make sense...you were robbed .

I know this is off topic, but if you don't mind me asking, why did you guys stick with the Warrior Alliance over the Exile Alliance? Obviously it worked for you, but as a viewer I was rather pissed that you guys took out Brendan . Any chance you can get Brendan posting here lol?

11. Dreamz and Yau-Man make the car deal.

Perhaps this was the one exciting thing about one of the most dreadful seasons of Survivor and all of reality TV. As Jiffy promised, though, this had people talking. On day 34, or whenever it was, the F6 all participated in the final reward challenge of the game. Yau-Man's team won the first part, and then he went on to win the second part, winning a pretty bad ass truck for himself. Then, it seemed to get to his head. After playing an almost entirely flawless game for the previous five weeks, Yau-Man made a potentially disastrous mistake, by making this deal. You all know what happened. Yau-Man gave Dreamz the truck and Dreamz gave his word that should he and Yau-Man both make the F4, he would give Yau-Man immunity if he won.
Now I'll explain why I put this so high and go into detail about the stupidity here. Assuming Dreamz would hold up his end of the deal, should Yau-Man and Dreamz have made the F4, Yau-Man would have a MUCH greater shot at making the F3, meaning that Yau-Man needed Dreamz in the F4, and that was one less spot for someone else to take in his F4. It looked like the obvious F4 was those two plus Earl and Cassandra, so this gave Boo/Stacy reason to target Yau-Man. Then, it also gave Dreamz reason to target Yau-Man, and while you can say that's only 3/6, not a majority, Cassandra also had reason to turn on Yau-Man because her goat, Dreamz, was now going to be at bigger risk at the F4. Now for Dreamz...by agreeing to this, unless he can get Yau-Man out before the F4, he will have to either give up immunity and most likely a spot in the finals or look like the biggest asshole in Survivor history in front of the jury and millions of viewers (which is, of course, what happened). Taking out Yau-Man would, furthermore, not exactly be an easy task. This is because Yau-Man a.) had a HII; b.) was able to send himself to Exile and acquire ANOTHER HII; and c.) was well positioned and one of the biggest immunity threats left.
It's for all of these reasons that I end up putting more blame on Dreamz. The odds were stacked heavily against him, and all he had to do was simply decline the deal, saying something like, "Yau-Man, that's very generous and kind of you, but I just can't accept this. I didn't win it. You did." This would put a target on Yau-Man, make him unable to send himself to Exile, and leave Dreamz unharmed. As a viewer, though, I enjoyed seeing this play out, and this whole thing quite possibly saved Survivor as a series.



















10. John boots Gabe over Boston Rob or Sean.

What a great way to kick off the top 10. For a little bit I wondered if I put this too high, but I think this is in a good place. Marquesas started out with Rotu ownage, and then a tribe swap left Rotu with an advantage on both tribes. When Maraamu actually won a couple of challenges, surely the five former Rotus would stick together and get rid of one of the three former Maraamus, most likely Rob or Sean, right? They had been the "Love Tribe," and all of them got along pretty well. So naturally John insisted that they all vote out Gabe...wait, WTF??? Yes, John wanted to spare Rob, the guy who was not so secretly gunning for him, and instead vote out Gabe, who would clearly never backstab him and take him to the end. Even putting the fact that this led to a much more epic and significant boot (which may or may not show up in the next update), this was absolutely retarded. John took out his fifth and left himself with an alliance of four to go into the merge, and as we would all learn a couple weeks later, four does not guarantee you shit after the merge. I can't tell you what would have happened with Gabe after the merge, but I think it's safe to say that he certainly wasn't gonna backstab John, or any of the Rotu Four (he did end up voting for Rob, after all), and this would have made any sort of Coup at the F9 impossible.

























9. Mookie tells Dreamz about the HII.

More Fiji fuck ups. However, I can say that this is the last time Fiji will show up on here. This time, we had a horrendous alliance called the Four Horseman, and in addition to being horribly obnoxious, they weren't the brightest gorup either (hence appearing on this ranking multiple times). They were going into the merge against Earl's group, and it looked like the HII would be a key part of their strategy. Only Mookie/Alex/Edgardo knew about it, and they managed to keep it a secret for about a week before filling Dreamz in on it too, but after Michelle got voted off in the most bullshit twist ever, Dreamz did exactly as the other Horseman feared. Mookie not only told Dreamz that he had the idol, but also that he DIDN'T originally tell him because he didn't trust Dreamz. What did Dreamz think? See the quote above. He proceeded to tell Earl about this, which meant everyone knew soon enough, and it let Cassie pull Dreamz back onto her side after she took him on the reward, where Dreamz didn't trust the other Horsemen anymore and went on to blab about who the idol was transfered to as to blindside the right person. So Mookie, who knew very well this could happen, told Dreamz anyways, and in a horrible mannor. He could have done it much differently, and who knows how the season would have turned out if he did.



























8. Kelly leaves the Tagi Alliance.

This is the second of the two inconsequential moves. Some of you may be thinking "WTF, why is this so high?" simply because this was the first season, and we all tend to grant Survivors leeway in the early seasons, but I'm not that sympathetic to Kelly in this situation. When I put up the entry about the Pagongs being unable to form a counter alliance, someone (I think it was Quid) asked me why it wasn't higher, and the answer was because the alliance issue was still a little vague, but by this time (the F6 or so, when Kelly's time was running out), it was very clear that alliances rule, and you better get in one if you want to win the game. And as you all know, despite being an original part of one of the most successful alliances of Survivor history, Kelly decided to leave the alliance. Once the Tagi Alliance took out the immunity threat, Gervase, her days seemed to be numbered. She had three of them, actually...but then she won immunity, and she went on to win every single challenge for the remainder of the season, which is why this was ultimately inconsequential. Perhaps you could argue it cost her jury votes, but Kelly certainly wasn't getting anywhere near the finals had it not been for her immunity streak.
