How was China's lake man-made?
That would have been pretty stupid.

Hm, I though Vanuatu was a great location - one of my favourites.

Vanuatu was really exotic imo. One of the best locations.
Was there ever another survivor location that had an earthquake and volcanic eruption happen during the filming of the season? No. |

And I think Fiji was also close to a major city...Fiji was actually one of the remotest locations ever. The last three locations were robbed |

How close was the city to the camps?

About 15 miles, not to mention the developed farmland that was basically right behind the fake manmade islands they were staying on.

I'm not sad to see Africa out.

Fiji was actually one of the remotest locations ever. Really? I remeber one reward where Lisi and Rocky got to go to an arcade\bowling ally type place. Fifi conbined the generic qualities of a Pacific Island with the lack of water challenges typical on continental locations (because there were poisonous sea snakes or something). They had to cancel the family visit because of a coup, and I like the family visit. |

The resorts they visited in Fiji were about 40 miles from the filming location, on the opposite end of Vanua Levu.
Here's the website of the actual resort they went to, and a description of the arcade: http://www.namalefiji.com/adventure_kava-bowl.aspx |

I thought Vanuatu was a great location. It was beautiful, and also interesting and unique with the volcanoes. I loved the moment with the earthquake
happening in the middle of Leann's confessional and her cussing.

C'mon now! That Marquesas, Vanuatu and Kenya are out before Borneo is an outrage. Marquesas offered beautiful ocean/cliff scenes as well as the waterfall
at Rotu and the Marquesean feast that Sean/Paschal experienced. Vanuatu was under-utilized on the show but the Mount Yasur volcano was better than anything in
Borneo. Also the opening of the season ("They came at us with Spears") was cool. Kenya - yes the camps were brown, dry and barren but the wildlife
was phenomenal and the Lex/Ethan village trip and the Lex/Tom great adventure were great.

And since Fiji followed-up Cook Islands, I thought the lack of water challenges was actually refreshing. I think there were one or two where swimming was involved, but mostly it had great challenges. And yes, they couldn't use the water too much because of the sea snakes. |

Having a season in Fiji just seems like a really bad idea because it has such a large number of venomous snakes... The other locations have all been at least
somewhat safe (in Kenya they gave them a fortress to keep the wildlife out).

Kenya was GORGE! I liked Marquesas too. I loved how it was mountains in the back.

menelaus wrote: Fiji isn't more dangerous than anywhere else. The most venemous snake in the world lived on Koh Tarutao and that didn't hinder anything. The main reason there weren't that many water challenges in Fiji probably had more to do with the choppier ocean tides making it harder to set up challenges in the water. It probably had nothing to do with snakes. Locations like Palau and Cook Islands had a lot of water challenges because the waters are very calm and extremely clear (the islands were in protected lagoons). Also, Marquesas is my number one location of all time, the fact that it's ranked so low is RIDICULOUS. It had everything one could want in a location: epic mountains, primeval jungles, gorgeous beaches, a freaking WATERFALL. You definitely should have allowed more time to vote, the results are really skewed. |

Marquesas had a lot of flaws as a location. It was really uncomfortable, and the flies were a pain, and aside from gorgeous scenery, it was very generically
tropical-islandy...
However, the waterfall was amazing. |

Wait, isn't this Survivor? Shouldn't a location be uncomfortable? And as far as the generic tropical island thing (although I personally think
there's definitely too much anti-islandism on this board), Marquesas was definitely the most distinct island they've ever been to, so I have no idea
why others would rank ahead of it.

Marquesas doesn't really compare to the other islands. It's far better than any other island they've been to.
