Contestants for the 13th cycle of The CW's America's Next Top Model will be required to be at or below five feet, seven inches (5' 7") in height for the first time in the show's history. According to a network press release, previous seasons have set 5' 7" as the minimum height, but host Tyra Banks is quoted in the release exclaiming that the fall 2009 cycle will be "a year for the shorter model!" The official ANTM application available at The CW's website, however, clearly states that "Producers reserve the right to make case-by-case exceptions...[and] are looking for a variety of models, including plus size models." Open calls for the 13th cycle begin Feb. 28 in Miami, Fla., and will hit San Franscisco, Washington D.C., New York City, Dallas, Chicago, and Los Angeles over the course of March.

What the hell? Why doesn't Tyra just admit that the show is not about finding new talent.
