I know it's a little late, but I think I might've figured out the "weathered by the elements" clue. I remember awhile back, I noted that
certain castaways had the elements as either their initials or first two letters of their first names. All seven of the jurors fall into one (or both) of those
categories, yet JT and Stephen fall into neither. Perhaps it's saying that the final two were weathered (questioned) by the elements (the seven jurors)?

boy, most people here had a strong hunch that JT was going to be the winner

On the front page: Vidcaps - showed F2: Stephen and JT Videos - featured either Probst or the F4 except for the two highlighting JT: one in hammock, the other with the JT's "Cowboy" subtitle being lit up. (FWIW, YouTube only gives you a choice of three different snapshots to represent each video, so it was lucky that this one was one of them.) In the Gallery: This composite, taken from the Full Promo, showed Stephen and JT in battle and Taj in distress. Taken with the information from the Press Release, it was quite clear that: - Taj woud be blindsided - Stephen/JT would be the F2 (FWIW, there was a similar sequence during the Recap Epilogue which showed Stephen and JT as a likely face-off, but I never posted that one) 
No explanations needed here.
