Up until young Danielle gave her name, I had zero inkling to think or believe it would be the Black Rock folk. I began to process if whether or not her and Jin had ever really interacted, but the fact is, I trust Damon & Carlton and for them to bring Jin back in this manner means they know where they are taking this arc. - GJ, I agree that Locke comes off as far too wise at times but the way I look at it - he isn't a know it all, he just thinks he is. Under the current circumstances, he is the psuedo leader but he doesn't for sure know what he is doing or how he is going to do it. He, much like Ben is making it up on the fly. - Matthew Fox will hopefully get some Emmy consideration this year. He is doing brillant work and elevating every O6 scene with this incredible combination of hope, sorrow, worry, and leadership. - I hope next week is an O6 heavy/Jin episode. Those left behind have been at the forefront of each episode so far, it is time to get to the core of Ben's plan and where it goes next. Overall, just a fantastic episode.

I don't hate Kate for claiming Aaron. Someone had to. I had zero inkling to think or believe it would be the Black Rock folk. They weren't the Black Rock folk. They were Rousseau's research team. The Black Rock folk were slave ferriers from a much earlier period.

Or is it just because they took a bad path to the island which gave them time whiplash? Off hand I'm thinking the freighter's doctor and the lady who drowned after jumping into the ocean wearing the uber-large chain link tennis bracelet and necklace may have been Others or Dharmites who once lived on the island? Maybe we'll see them again when Locke and company jump around in island time.

The logical thing would be to see if he had family members who would want him. Saying "Gee, I'll just pretend he's mine." isn't logical. If they were still on the island and Kate was taking care of him I wouldn't have a problem with it at all, since obviously Aaron had no family there (except Jack who wouldn't know about it). But the fact that no one seemed to have any problem with keeping him from his family and letting them think that they lost not only Claire but her baby too just isn't cool with me. Babynapping is never something I would call logical.

I agree that if this was RL, they most definitely should have gotten Aaron to his grandmother. Since the O6 chose to lie, it makes sense for Kate to raise Aaron. The other 5 all had other complications in their lives.

Other than for "storyline purposes" meaning it would be a lot harder for them to get Aaron back to the island if he was with his family. There is no reason they couldn't have just said that Claire died in childbirth but the baby lived, other than Kate randomly deciding she wanted to be a mom even though she could have been going to spend life in prison for all they knew. It just doesn't make sense to me, and no amount of people saying "Oh but she had to take him to protect the people still on the island!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" will make it make sense, because her having him doesn't protect anyone.

You knew that since their time skipping they would have to have a scene like that. I'm glad they picked one with Kate. Can you imagine being in Sawyer's shoes. You don't think you'll ever see the person you love and then there they are, but you know it's not quite real. I thought it was very moving. I agree with the previous poster about having Claire's mom in the episode. It seemed like a cheap way to trick everyone and really wasn't that necessary.

For some reason it was especially annoying this episode (although great episode overall). You'd think by now that insteaed of all the Losties feeling like they need to bear their own personal burdens alone, they'd realise that their comrades on the island want to help. Well, imo: Sawyer doesnt trust Locke...weve seen Sawyer's distrust and thinking Locke is out of his mind on a power trip... So why tell him anything? Sawyer is also mad that Locke didnt say what that beam of light was...knowing later Locke did know and wasnt saying anything. Sawyer is stubborn to a fault. So, this one...i completely buy character-wise. As for Kate, she cut herself off from Jack..she took Aaron and ran away from him. She always chooses to run on her own with little help. Im sure she was hoping Jack would say what he had to say then leave...why would she feel compelled to tell jack shes staking out a lawyer to find some mysterious client? They are at odds now. So, for this one...i completely buy this bit of vague response as well. And as for Jack not telling Kate...thats totally understandble because if he told her he was taking her and Aaron to ben so they could all go to the Island again...she'd totally freak out and run! So for this one...i COMPLETELY buy this vagueness from Jack. Makes sense. I agree though, that season 1 and 2 had frustrating character reactions of people not telling each other things...but i totally buy the reactions in this episode. shrugs

That is crappy writing, IMO. It's not like she was a nobody - law enforcement had been chasing her halfway across the world. Now that she's part of the Oceanic 6 and a big celeb, why haven't any of those officials come forward to point out that she was not six months pregnant at the time of her capture/when she boarded the plane? Surely, the dead marshall wasn't the only l.e. official who knew her.
