And to those of you who think such things, I ask that you go back to elementary school and focus on your reading comprehension. Because there are some key differences between the title of this thread and Rudy's. For starters, this is not :iiam. This is Pulau Tiga, and I am no sort of mystery. Furthermore, I am rating movies, not ranking them. Because there's no way I'll keep track of the movies I watch throughout the year and then rate them all once the year's over. That's just silly. (Spoiler Alert: Maybe I'll rank them all once the year draws to a close! Wouldn't that be epic? Yeah, I didn't think so.) Also, I have no delusions about my movie-watching; there's not a chance in hell I'll see 214 movies in a year. For you math majors, that's a movie every 1.7 days. Who in the world watches that many? (Rudy is the answer). And finally, I'm rating the movies of 2009, which is sure to be far more interesting than 2008, right?
Anywho, so here's how this works. My girlfriend's a movie buff, so she forces me to watch movies. She's also into that whole cultural variety thing and has a liking for old flicks. Oh, and she despises horror movies. So unlike Rudy's list, this thread will include far fewer horror movies (although that's mainly because I'm a normal human being) and probably far more shit nobody's ever heard of. Whenever I watch a movie, I'll rate it here. I don't really like watching films I've seen before, so these should all be, for the most part, movies I'm seeing for the very first time (and if it's one I've seen before, consider that a special type of update). And they're not all '09 movies, of course, but we can pretend, because for me, they might as well be.
So we'll start off with the movies I've already seen in January (and one in February, yw!). Maybe I'll rate movies I've only seen part of, since I tend to only see bits and pieces quite often. I'll leave that up to my own discretion, thank you very much. I'll rate each of them out of 10 stars, and know that I like to rate things on a bit of a bell curve, which means more movies get 5's than either 1's or 10's.
Argue away. Just remember I'm right. Because I'm basically a professional movie critic.
