In doing so there isn't much in terms of tone because it's already established for the major players. Instead, they wanted to show us how the groups/alliances/players are getting ready for the merge. You don't need tone for that, in fact it would almost get in the way. Personally, I like this season because it has provided a very intriguing strategic twist, one of the best since the first tribal swap in S3. You have clowns, fools, loudmouths, snarks, good ol' boys who are actually good, strategists, and just a few non-entities. The fact that we can legitimately keep half the players as reasonable edgic fits makes it lively both on TV and here.

Yep, we had everything except another little meeting among the Coach, Tyson, Deb "alliance". The fact that they're stories weren't given a last-minute buff suggests that they're not making the F-6. (Well, maybe Coach, since his role as annoying selfish doofus was given a once-over by Sierra and Brendan.) The fact that the season seems to be about a successful alliance that straddles both pre-merge tribes is new and very cool.

We've gotten so locked into tossing him MOR's or UTR's we overlooked the blatant strategic insight he gave. Everything about him was game, game, game and Sydney, Sydney, Sydney. While it was more episode-driven without much personal insight, I believe that the explicit strategy shown and the insight into his tribal position were genuinely CP. As far as Taj goes, I rated her OTT so don't ask me. =D

It was new and very cool when Parvati and the Black Widows did it last spring. Remember Parvati's "hot pickle" at the merge? Brendan's is much hotter (alligned with everyone but Joe, perhaps Erinn). His Jalopy partners are sharing an idol with JT, which would be the equivalent of Natalexis having a secret deal with Jason. The founder of the Exile Alliance will be lucky to survive 3 more episodes. Also, the idea of assembling the wealthy, elite people into one alliance was done last season by the Onions. Except they were more entertaining. But won't be long and Branden goes down like Marcus (based on editing and game logic). Last Edited By: craig 04/07/09 3:23 PM. Edited 2 times.

Either that or he could smell that she was filthy rich like him. Ironically Taj had alligned with the Yale guy, and Brendan with the big-time model who spoke as if she's already made and blown large sums of money. Actually they are much more of an elite group than the Onions ever worse. Wonder if Braednan and Sierra are too good to include the poor hairdresser in their alliance.

I'm not talking about alliances that result from tribe swaps/remixes. This alliance is from 4 people being connected by only 2 meeting at EI. That Taj had an alliance with Sierra without meeting her and Sierra learned that she was already in a 4-way alliance before she met Taj is the very cool part. And brand new. Not to take away from the all-estrogen alliance, which, being the first time the women held together, was very cool too. So, don't start huffing about the ladies again. Lol.

I don't think I've read or seen anything to indicate this is true, besides the fact Taj and Brendan happen to be wealthy. Brendan, from what the show has given us, picked Taj because it seemed like she was on the outs. Stephen outwardly mocks his education in preshow interviews, and Sierra doesn't strike me as a "big-time model." And maybe Brendan and Sierra don't include Erinn--which we don't even know is true--because she isn't trustworthy given their experiences with her for two weeks.

Brendan is a mega millionaire, Kellogs bought his company for hundreds of millions. Taj was in SWV (WHY HAVEN'T THEY SHOWN THIS ON THE SHOW?) and is married to uber-rich Eddie George. Stephen went to Yale, he may not be rich yet, but he will be. I think the fact that they haven't beat us over the head at all about their money pasts (and presents) is a good way to avoid negativity on them with "They don't need the money". Taj got it from JT in Ep2, but the other three are seemingly unscathed.

In many respects, the closest we've ever come to this before is Marquesas and, to a lesser extent, Fiji. However, if a 'no pre-merge tribe swap' criterion is used, then, yes, it's very new and very cool.

Really, why bother actually rating Joe correctly when you've already eliminated him? It doesn't help his chances. Joe had a clearly complex episode developing his relationship with Erinn and discussing his strategy behind it. He produced a plan, discussed it with us through a confessional, and gave reasoning for what he did. Even Erinn finally did something, I'd say she was just as complex as Joe with agreeing to this alliance with Joe and giving him the clues to the idol because she hopes they can both get it.

X Taj was WAY more OTT than Joe was this episode, but only 4% voted her that way.
