1. RVStupid, please STFU. 2. What were you edgicers expecting from Erinn's edit ? She got her scene with Joe and she now knows that Brendan has the HII. 3. She was not INV like Debbie and Sierra. 4. She is no longer the #1 target of Coach and Tyson. 5. She has reached the merge and will now slide to the end while the testosterone battles take place. 6. She was not part of the scheming and backstabbing of the Visible Four and it didn't matter who she was voting for, since there was no TC. 7. It's still Stephen or Erinn for me. 8. RVStupid, please STFU.

If Erinn were the winner I would expect the following in this merge ep:
A confessional about the merge and how she's been saved from her constant outsider status A confessional about Joe's evacuation as he was the ONLY ally she has (could happen next week I suppose, but would've made sense here) A confessional about being approached by Tyson and Coach to vote off Brendan, and how she feels about that (also, showing Erinn being approached prob would've been good) A confessional or comment about her future in the game "Now I have a chance to play/win!" or something along those lines I would love nothing more than an Erinn win but her edit sucked tonight. Not as bad as Sierra, but one of the worst for sure. Even Debbie seemed more relevant and powerful. I DID think it was noteworthy and interesting that a) they showed that Tyson would include Erinn in the vote and b) they showed that Erinn WOULD NOT be allowed in the alliance still. Because both of those things could easily have been omitted in light of the non-issue it turned out to be.

Debbie was just a vote, I mean even Taj was in on the Brendan vote and we saw her reasons as to why she was going to vote for Brendan.

Just last week Erinn/Joe's connection was important for her because it set up Joe as a jury vote for her. Now that he's gone and doesn't appear to
be on the jury, since Jeff didn't say he was, it's tossed aside to benefit her so you can still claim her as a winner choice.
Once again must I repeat for you Katy, I have ZERO problems with female contestants. Sugar was my top pick all last season and Sierra was mine until this episode where I think she probably won't win. I have contributed several times to Edgic, I've made great points over the last few seasons and there are a few Edgicers that have actually complimented me on my thoughts, like colleenlover. Must I remind you how I was a huge supporter of Marcus/Kenny/Matty not having the winning edit last season. I said it everytime you guys kept picking them as winners and granted my top pick wasn't any better, I didn't shove it down your throats and claim it being the complete truth, or go back and try to rewrite Edgic to try to claim I picked the winner. Sorry that I have an outspoken personality and that I have no problem addressing the ridiculousness of support for certain contestants. If people want to speculate on how their favorite can make it farther into the game, they can start their own thread titled "How player X wins, a theory." The fact that Erinn was anyone's top pick at all is ridiculous. Taj, JT, Stephen, Sierra, Brendan, and Tyson all had great edits and could have all remained viable if Taj/Sierra/Brendan didn't go so quiet in the merge episode. Erinn's had a poor edit from the beginning, the only argument anyone seems to have for her is that she is connected to the first 15 minutes. There's several players in that same group and even though Taj/Sierra/Brendan are my 3 favorites, I don't keep them in my top group of winners because following your little Edgic rules, they should be eliminated due to a poor merge episode. If people don't like my opinion, too bad. Everyone has the right to post here and I make fair and logical conclusions from watching the episodes. I'm not creating fantasies where my favorites turn the game around and win, I'm looking at the show and the edits of the players and making a fair assessment on who I think wins. And OO, Debbie may have been just a 5th vote, but Erinn was dragged in as just a 7th vote after Coach/Tyson/JT/Stephen/Debbie/Taj. Debbie was definitely shown more in the know than Erinn, considering Erinn wasn't even told Brendan was going. |

I like the concept of Edgic, but it's some of the idiots that are allowed to post their bullshit fan-fics that annoy me. If it actually could be just the
people that don't create stories in their head or use spoilers to pick winners, I'd fully participate. That will never happen, so I'll just post my
thoughts and if people agree, they agree. If not, I'm not going to cry myself to sleep because people didn't listen to me. It's not the end of the
world if everyone doesn't support my picks for the winner and I'm not pathetic enough to make all my posts revolve around my favorite winning.

Darn, the number of potential winners sure dropped. It went from "over half of the players are still reasonable edgic selections" to just a few.
And I need to see it again - wish I had close captioning on just to pick up some of the mumbling. JT has the accent, but damn, coach has a pretty decent mumble as well. This was a huge episode in terms of the number of words spoken. "First half of the merge..." LOLOLOL. Craig, erinn is NOT going to call you after the season is over. Trust me. So give it up. Coach - sorry, but when you start out with Carmina Burana ("O Fortuna") playing over your sacred stretching ritual you are automatically OTT. It's essentially an acoustic pop-up that says, "overblown idiot." BTW, here is the translation of the latin verses that you heard over Coach's stretching: "O Fortune, like the moon you are changeable, ever waxing and waning;" Heh. And his whole "i'm so frigging brilliant" monologue wasn't exactly big on subtlety. I don't even find his strategizing (S -3, btw) very complex. It was just a rehash of his first episode crap. Other thoughts: Interesting that Brendan knew nothing about JT being in the Exile Alliance. He's got a surprise coming. Which is why he's not in my top 2. He's in the dark about a very significant aspect of the relationships surrounding him. Tyson is a clown for the camera. That's what he's playing to, so it's tough to go OTT. I don't think when a person is TRYING for OTT should we give it to him. What gets me about the game play of Tyson and Coach (and I use the term "game play" in the broadest sense: They are in a game and they are official players in it, and that's about it) is their complete willingness to abandon their tribe because they are somehow unworthy and go with people from the other tribe they view as worthy. Well, f##k worthy. Win the f##king game. I don't like to use the term "don't deserve to win" very much, but it fits. Sierra... sigh. She's been dropping in my estimation for several weeks - folks here kept saying, "These UTRs are OK... this one too... Uh, this one..." She's now sunk like Jack Dawson at the end of Titanic. What gets me about Stephen and JT is how this change in their fortune has just dropped in their laps. They had an "out" with the exile alliance, once it gets down to 9 players (hey! it is!) and they get rid of coach or Tyson. Now they have a second "out" with the coach/tyson thing, and they pick Stephen and JT precisely based on the observations Stephen made about the two of them in the first episode. Interesting foreshadowing. Stephen and JT now have three more days just to think things through, keep coach and tyson all dumb and happy with their fellow warriors, and consider all the options. And I find it interesting that of the four, the most circumspect is (yet again!) Stephen. Coach and Tyson are crowing at their brilliance, JT is pretty confident (reasonably, I might add,) but Stephen is always sort of looking at all the options. I'll look at it again before my final pick, but as of now it's Stephen, followed very closely by |

I've been clinging onto hope for Erinn to still be in the running...but Forza love of God, tonight really did end it for her.
I don't know exactly why this episode hurts Brendan though--sure, 99% of his airtime was SPV but he was clearly involved in the story and would they really want to show the winner so oblivious to the plotting going on? There are only so many ways to show him thinking Timbira was still tight. Doesn't matter though since JT's winning this thing (my week 1 prediction, woo!) even though if all were fair in the world, it'd be Tyson. |
