Brendan looks like a sinking ship, but I can't rule him out as a possible winner just because of his merge edit. He was certainly given enough doubt to be the winner, but was it doubt or foreshadowing? And can we really let what two negative players (Tyson/Coach) say about Brendan affect what we think of him? It makes them look bad in my eyes, not Brendan. I have not seen Brendan doing anything to be called such names. Tyson is certainly playing it up for the cameras, but that doesn't mean he's not negative. J.T. seemed very self confident after the merge, Stephen and Taj were the ones that looked worried. Take it for what it's worth, but I think anyone closely involved with Tyson or Coach is not going to win this. We'll see which way the wind blows next week, but I can't see anyone rooting for Coach's alliance. Brendan and Sierra were made to look like the next boots and the underdogs, Coach's alliance looks to have all the power now. So where is the winner in all of this? I'm still not sure if Erinn will go to the dark side or vote with the good guys. It seems like next week we'll find out more, and hopefully the Exile Alliance plus J.T. have a talk. Maybe Coach and Tyson will get so annoying one of them will go, I think many viewers are hoping that's what happens next. ILT, did you say your top three picks are J.T., Erinn and Brendan? If so, can you elaborate why they are your top picks after tonight? I am getting more confused than ever, my top picks are looking like they go next, or at least two of them are. I guess Stephen is still sitting good, but I have my doubts about him, too. It's strange how quickly J.T. went from an underdog to Coach's new warrior king....Brendan and Sierra from sitting good to being sitting ducks. Taj wasn't there as much as she could have been, but I like her. And what will Stephen do next week? Will he pull J.T. over to the Exile Alliance, or will J.T. stick with the "Warrior Alliance" and convince Stephen to vote Brendan and Sierra off? Who will Taj be loyal to? Stephen, J.T., and Brendan are my top three picks.....Taj could be the dark horse feel good (surprise) winner that comes out of the ashes left by the fighting warriors and takes it all.....

Notice Coach calling him a "warrior". He is the Worthy Opponent from Coach's ep.1 confessional. But if you believe Coach is wrong about most things, JT will not win! That was a pretty interesting observation about JT, maybe the best in the thread tonight. Yet all we get afterwards is silly cute girl wars and ad hominem attacks. Who is this Straw man who has Erinn #1. She's only my 3rd pick. Put all your edgic eggs in the Stephen\JT basket if you want. But if anyone on Timbira is winning, it's Erinn. She had a much better ep.1 than Brendan, and they were both Vis 2 this episode. Back to JT. Edgic is about hiding the winner, right? Yes Tyson is Vis 5 for no good reason. Is close association with Neg Coach bad for JT? Or has Coach been redeemed by alligning with Bobby Jon Redux? Tyson was N tonight, but not Coach.

"It's a fixer-upper", "doghouse", "it's falling down" etc... Personally, I think that Sierra really should get an N this episode, between her show-stopping, gob-smacking social gaff at the merge feast to her N SPV (and it wasn't all from Tyson & Coach...Taj & Steve talked TWICE about being ignored by Brendan & Sierra, & Stephen even mentioned that he was trying to step around Sierra becuase she was talking without thinking and he didn't want to show all the tribe dynamics). For so little visibility, it was pretty negative. I told ya not knowing anything about her on a personal level was a bad thing.... ;) -- I think Joe's definately P. You could tell he really wanted to stay, but was smart enough to realize it's a game, and life and limb are more important. -- I though Taj was pretty P overall... she showed some sympathy over voting out Syd, and sent her love to her "enemy" Joe. She was shown to be confused and upset by being ignored by Brendan and Sierra.... seriously Brendan, you arse! It's your campsite and "your" Exile Alliance, and your tribe has the numbers advantage.... it is your responsibility to approach her you doofus.... I totally WISH they had gone to TC and voted him off. </rant> -- I also thought Brendan came off pretty N tonight too... i know Coach is "out there" but really... Brendan's confessional making fun of Coach's hair was just... rude. Think about it...Coach being OTTish or not... Brendan's confessional followed Erinn's "Liking the New Coach" confessional and Coach being nice to everyone and giving them shoulder massages, etc.... that was juxtaposed for a reason... I think the audience -- like Erinn -- is supposed to be starting to change their first impression of Coach. Brendan is not changing his impression and has admitted such. Add on the ignoring of Taj (who has thus far been editted to be pretty Positive), the fact that he has pretty much dismissed the EI and only plans on using it as a backup instead of how he originally presented it to Taj & Stephen, and Brendan gets N SPV... considering how he was portrayed this episode, the fact that it comes from Negative players i don't feel makes a difference. Tyson thinks Brendan is sneaky and untrustworthy... and we see that he is not being upfront and honest with Taj, etc. I think the N SPV was deserved. -- Tyson is hilarious. I find him difficult to rate becuase his personality is OTT and i think he is totally playing up for the camera... but I think he was CP, in spite of all the OTT actions. The content is sound.... it's just painted all frilly. I don't think he's winning... LOVE it if he did, but talk about coming on strong.... Tyson went from 0 to warp 9. At least JT came into the merge riding a CP5 already.... it's not like this is some weird spike in Vis and Rating like Tyson.... -- I wish we had seen more of Debbie.... she looks like she's a lot of fun. Go Debbie on the challenges! whoot whoot. -- Boy, Coach can sure talk can't he........ i hope he makes it to the final episode. He is everything I wanted Ace to be last year! -- Stephen & JT.... both got a really solid episode tonight. And everyone is in love with JT! WTF??? Stephen has once again been shown to be cautious and thoughtful and weighing his decisions. A great merge for both of them. -- It's fascinating to watch a tribe self-destruct. Timbira really was dysfunctional.... in so many ways. Dysfunction doesn't make a tribe complex. I would be surprised to see someone from Timbira win. Unless it was Coach... yeah, i could buy that. j/k

That's not what he said of Aitu or even an other minority alliance that took over for a while like Kenny and Crystal. Here, we even saw desperation in Stephen's face when JT talked about losing the Pao of Jalapao. Their move, therefore has to be considered as a desperation move, not a smart one. To me, it seems the intent was to show that the EA would have been the smart move for Stephen. Brendan explained why he was keeping the EA buried until F8. Stephen, on his part, only said that Brendan hadn't talked about it. Well, that also tells us that Stephen didn't talk to Brendan about it. To me, Final 3 looks more and more like Brendan, Sierra and Erinn, all three Timbira as in the challenge, all three players that have been in Coach's doghouse at one point or the other. And, it seems that Brendan would be tough to beat.

IMO, Brendan, Tyson, Stephen, and JT have all been shown as sneaky and untrustworthy. Brendan lies about the idol and is just using the exile alliance. Tyson gives Fairplayesque confessionals and plays hardcore. Stephen wants to keep the idol secret from JT, then laughs with JT about the idea of voting Taj off. JT lies to Coach about knowing Taj has the idol, and appears to be just using Coach. Ironically, Coach may be annoying and hypocritical, but he hasn't been shown a liar yet. No idea who is supposed to be the good guys. Even if Timbira throws away the numbers, I don't see Jollypal having blind Aitu 4 style loyalty to each.

I was watching the DVR and had no concept of the elapsed time, so I didn't realize that they would skip TC. It kinda took me off guard, but it was a rather interesting anti-climax that I got a kick out of. Okay, after I've been preaching Sierra this past week, I'm throwing her out. I'm also eliminating Erinn this week, so all the women are gone from my list. JT is uber distraction at this point. Brendan is still a distraction. Coach is still a distraction. Stephen and Tyson are the two we're left with. Complex tribe would peg Tyson. Conventional Edgic would peg Stephen. I think it could be Tyson; his edit is bizarre because HE is bizarre. He tries so hard to be OTT and funny that we may have gotten confused as to his edit. And of the people who are left that I haven't eliminated, he has the best premiere. Just look at his stats and think about it from a non-Tyson standpoint: OTTM2 - MOR3 - CPN4 - OTTN3 - MOR2 - UTR1 It's actually not too shabby at all. We haven't seen an OTT winner in awhile, but in light of Coach, Tyson's edit isn't as bad as it would be on a Coach-less season. We shall see.

For them to blow that lead would be a meltdown of epic proportions, equal to Raro and Fang. But they haven't been getting the usual bad guy or dumbass edit that typically heralds such an meltdown. By all means keep Stephen #1, but don't make impulsive eliminations when the merge tribe has yet to boot anyone.

He was shown as ignoring Taj, his loyal ally, while he still believed the alliance was in place. He appeared as almost a sitting duck. This along with his negative confessional on Coach's hair right after Coach's number 1 hater, Erinn complimented him and commented on his change, made Brendan Negative in my opinion. Rating: MORN2 Coach: Coach may have talked strategy, but strategy does not make a character complex. From his opening yoga/meditation scene to his whole dragon slayer diatribe, Coach was OTT. Still, despite his cockiness, the fact that he had a whole scene hsowing how he is changing into a possibly more positive character does not make him solely negative. In my opinion, the fact that Erinn said she liked the new Coach means that Coach weas Mixed. This might be a controversial rating, but Coach was not all N, no matter how stupid and OTT he seemed. Rating: OTTM4 Debra: She's in an alliance, but she doesn't say much. She seems like a nice positive minor character, but being tied to Tyson and Coach (and even to a lesser extent Stephen and JT aka the big schemers) means that she can't be shown as too positive as she's just to be grouped up with them. Oh well. Rating: UTR1 Erinn: I have no clue what to think of Erinn. Does she go far? In my opinion yes. Does she win? As of now, I doubt it. First off she had a confessional on how Coach is changing. Is this to make the audience believe she will work with coach to boot Brendan for suspense? Or is this to foreshadow Erinn actually working with Coach? Next Erinn was shown with Joe finding out that the idol was no longer hidden. She commented on how she'd just vote out Brendan and Sierra, but never gave us any idea on how she would do it. Right now she's a swing vote and being shown out of the civil war is good for her longevity in the game, but there were so many opportunities for good confessionals (like when Joe left) and she didn't have them. Rating: MOR2 JT: JT was all over this episode. He seems to be a huge distraction, but also Tom-like. The only problem is deciding whether he wins or goes far and is betrayed by Stephen. He had a lot of strategic insight, and some positive SPV (ex: JT is seen as a worthy opponent by Coach, which may actually hurt his chances, but is positive for now.) With that in mind, and the under dog status of Jalapao makes me think he may have had a slight P this episode. Rating: CPP5 Joe: Poor Joe, he might have thrown a wrench in the game working with Erinn. Is he the lone juror who votes for Erinn in the end? That's to be decided later. Rating: MORP2 Sierra: Terrible Episode for Sierra. She's show nas making strategic blunders at the feast, and has negative SPV, and then she has no confessionals, no valuable air time. Sierra is done. Rating: UTRN1 Stephen: Huge strategic player. He commented on everything and was shown everywhere, but was hidden behind JT. Great chances, but I feel like he is too strategically oriented to win. We need something else or maybe I just find him too boring. Nevertheless, my top contender still. Rating: CP4 Taj: Taj is still the most visible woman, which isn't saying much. Still is it good or bad that she told Stephen to just make it happen and she'd vote out Brendan/ She seemed to be the victim this episode (exlcuding Joe) shown as ignored by her old allies. The previews suggest that that changes, but Taj is a positive character, who may just win. Rating: MORP3 Tyson: Tyson, Tyson, Tyson. Tyson is OTT in person, but an OTT personality does not make him OTT. He was complex this episode, and he was everywhere. He's being set up for a huge fall, and the fact that he wanted things to be held together for tribal council suggests that things don't turn out as planned. That immunity he won may come bakc to hurt him as he is eliminated for being too much of a threat. Rating: CPN5 Contenders 1. Stephen 2. JT (Everyone else has very minute chances, but I'll order them, especially after the Bob fiasco last season) 3. Erinn 4. Taj 5. Tyson 6. Brendan 7. Sierra 8. Coach 9. Debra

They seem neck to neck to me. Personally, I would be happier with a JT win. I find Stephen really boring and a bit clueless at times. JT and Stephen were looking for a crack in Timbera, and they found it in Coach. To the people who are worried about their association with Coach, don't. They will quickly stomp that alliance when they need to. I am in high anticipation of the episode where Coach is voted off. Could be the best moment in Survivor history! Will the winner be Stephen or JT? If the winner is anyone else, I think we got duped...........

Eliminate both, please. I second (or third) that. I very reluctantly eliminate Sierra from contention. I am not sure if anyone has ever been able to be eliminated in one fell swoop the way Sierra has been. But that being the case, I really can't see how anyone can still put Erinn on the list if Sierra has been removed. Sad-I really thought we could have had the perfect female winner edit.
