i thought she and bobby jon had sorta made a new pact with the dallas cowboys guy (gary) and amy. danni and gary seemed like a perfect match, and i bet the producers were happy they ended up on the same tribe after the switch (of course, in addition to that drama of her knowing about his mad baller skillz)

Blake was more loyal to BJ and Brandon. Gary was more loyal to Danni. Even if there was no double TC and NuYaxha lost all the following pre-merge challenges (based on Blake's supposed physical prowess) they would've suffered through just one more TC and lost Gary. It wouldn't have screwed up Danni's game any, but if Gary did go to merge with NuYaxha, he'd be a good ally to Danni.

I've never really appreciated Danni as a winner. I shamefully cheered for the axis of evil.

Perhaps I need to rewatch Guatemala sometime. It's one of the few seasons I haven't entirely rewatched.

Voting out Blake was dumb cause they needed his strength for challenges. Danni won but cost the rest of her tribe better placings in the game.

I think maybe we need to add "Most Ironic Thread" to the next awards

What's with the recent spate of Guatemala threads, anyway? Not that I mind, it was a great and underrated season.

It may've been a bad decision at the time, but why did Steph vote out Jamie, Judd, Cindy and Lydia? Therefore both Danni and Stephenie sucked and Jim should've won.

I don't think it was a horrible move... Doing Blake before Brian made Amy and Gary more likely to feel part of the group and more likely to stay loyal after the merge.

I never said it was a bad move, I just didn't understand the reasoning because the show didn't make it clear. Therefore, it comes off like a bad idea.

There was definitely a dominant alliance at Old Nakum that included Danni, Brandon, Bobby Jon, Margaret, and Brooke. I can't remember if there was one other person, but I don't believe Blake was in it. Without the ties of alliance to Blake and a good relationship with Gary, choosing Gary over Blake.

Or maybe I'm remembering wrong and it was just Judd and Cindy on the outside looking in
