The State Troopers would come to the island and not be able to figure it out. "We know that Wakefield killed most of these people. But we don't think he killed everyone? How would he have know about the wedding rehearsal arrangements? And who finally killed Wakefield?" In in the last segement of the show, like the book, someone would find a journal written by the accomplice explaining everything, which is played out in flashbacks for us, and how the accomplice then recreated his own death so that the State Troopers would stumble upon an unsolvable mystery. ------------ Of course what we'll probably actually get is the standard slasher movie fare where Henry/Jimmy chases Abby through the maze and then Abby kills him or is rescued by Jimmy/Henry. But before the final chase sequence, Henry/Jimmy will explain to Abby how it all happened. ------------ Spoiler [+] Why doesn't Abby take a long distance shot at Wakefield while he's on the bridge? Yes, these people couldn't hit the side of a barn with a huge target on it. Henry could take the shot, but the fact that he doesn't reinforces the idea that he's Wakefield's partner. At the moment he seems more like he's protecting Wakefield from Abby than Abby from Wakefield. -------------- With the shoe matching, it now looks like Wakefield is the killer on Harper's Globe. So much wondering how Henry or someone else was involved in both stories. Jennifer Yale of Harper's Globe said clearly that the killer was the same on both HI and HG. Karim, HI producer, said they are different. They are BOTH right because there are (at least) two killers on Harper's Island. Why is Karim coming back with these tweets now? Personally, I think it is damage control because the twist of Wakefield being alive went over like a lead balloon. Here we had all been trying to figure out a killer, especially "one killer", and it was all bogus. The core audience didn't go, "Cool. Great twist." They went, "WTF is this piece of crap??!!!" The tweets with little "clues" try to keep the illusion of a "main" killer alive we are supposed to be looking for, when Wakefield has already been responsible for 5 of the 17 bingo card deaths, and probably a majority. Karim has been giving some some truthful information. Maybe his future information will also be correct. However... After the bogus "25 suspects, 13 weeks, 1 killer" advertising... Rationale: The flashbacks in episode 7 focused on the relationship between Abby and Jimmy. He saved her from Wakefield but she didn't even bother to say goodbye to him after her father sent her off the Island. This caused Jimmy to go off the deep end and provides the motive for him to partner with Wakefield. Whether or not Abby is really Wakefield's child, Wakefield thinks that she is. He didn't specify the gender of the child in his diary because he/she hadn't been born at the time he was put away by Sheriff Mills. He said in his diary that he was going to return and take back what was his (meaning his child). Since we have seen him on the show, he hasn't made an attempt to see anyone other than Abby (through Jimmy). Many think that Henry is Wakefield's accomplice, but it he knew that Wakefield was alive then why would he have spent so much time and effort helping Abby dig up Wakefield's coffin in order to determine whether or not Wakefield was dead. That doesn't make any sense. We will find out in two weeks but Jimmy being the accomplice is the best fit with the story that has been presented so far. It also provides the biggest shock to the audience because Abby and Jimmy have been lovey dovey during the entire show. Spoiler [+] Jimmy isn't going to mass murder a bunch of people just because his heart was broken. Sorry, that's stupid. If Jimmy's the killer, they're going to be some backstory where Jimmy is really Wakefield's son, and her mother was having an affair with Wakefield which led to a fucking up childhood after his mom left them. Since Abby's mom is dead, Jimmy is going after Abby. Response

Spoiler [+] - Only two episodes left and Jimmy and the writers want Jimmy to become the prime suspect - Jimmy and Wakefield were both in prison and perhaps knew each other (though if so, it is unlikely that Jimmy is Wakefield's son as well). - Wakefield let Jimmy live multiple times when he just killed others without a second thought. In fact, Wakefield must have rescued Jimmy from the water after the boat explosion (assuming Jimmy didn't already know an explosion is coming so he jumped in the water first). - Jimmy was on the scene seven years ago (so was Henry) - As a fisherman, Jimmy is comfortable with things like harpoons and head spades. Reasons for Henry... Spoiler [+] - It's only episode 12 and there is still time for Jimmy being the Prime Suspect to be the last great red herring - Henry was on the scene seven years ago (so was Jimmy) - Henry seems to be protecting Wakefield from Abby more than Abby from Wakfield. - Who sent him the "Uncle Marty" text unless it was someone Henry knew? The way Uncle Marty was hung tells us that Wakefield probably killed Uncle Marty. (Note: Apparently a scene where "Lucy" left a note going back to Seattle was left on the cutting room floor.) - Because of Wellington's death and the head spade, at least one killer has to be part of the wedding party. - What about finding Hunter's Boat? A little convenient. - What about those wounds on his arms? - If the old IMDB reference to a "Young JD" and a "Young Henry" is true, then why flash back unless Henry is the killer? - There are no romantic overtones to Henry/Abby's relationship (hence Brother/Sister). Accomplices galore: Since the whole 1 killer thing it is possible that we'll find out the two killers each had help. For example, Maggie may have thought she and Wakefield had a deal, which is why she didn't fear for personal safety they way they others did. Wakefield had to live somewhere all these years. Perhaps Maggie was allowing Wakefield to live under the tunnels and giving him food because she had a crush on him? Perhaps Booth was Henry's accomplice at first, then his unexpectedly dying meant Henry had to do more of his own dirty work. Someone in the wedding party had to know about where Mr. Wellington would be standing and someone had to know about finding Hunter's Boat. One set of killings around Wakefield and one set of killings around the Wellingtons and/or the money. They may even be independent of one another. I see an under-developed love triangle between Henry/Abby/Jimmy. Henry and Abby as best friends for all this time? Don't buy it. Plus, how can you not notice Trish's jealous stares whenever Henry mentions the thought of going to or saving Abby. There's some feelings there, but Abby chose Jimmy. My theory has always been that if Jimmy is the killer, she'll end up happily ever after with Henry and vice versa.

The reason that we are supposed to suspect him at this point is that Shea and Madison found a file on him in Sheriff's attic. But Sheriff had developed a friendship with Jimmy and even told Abby that he had sacrificed his life for Jimmy and that Abby should be with Jimmy. Sheriff had those files, but also had a reason to think Jimmy was still a good person. If it really is Jimmy, Sheriff was a pretty crappy cop for not suspecting him. Another thing - did anyone else get the impression that Wakefield was going to let Chloe live before she jumped? Something about the look on his face, combined with him previously asking her if her fiance was willing to sacrifice himself to save her. Anyway, that scene was really affecting and well done.

Spoiler [+] He was still waving the knife menacingly. I think he was still going to kill her, but there is something about Chloe that reminds him of the woman "he almost died for". I wouldn't try analyzing Wakefield's psychology but Abby did ask a valid question. "Why is he still killing now that he got the Sheriff?" Does Wakefield even know? Wakefield did assume that Abby knows why, "Don't you know?" It does seem that Wakefield can never kill what Chloe represents inside of him. The whole bit about luring Cal seemed to be about punishing Cal (himself) for loving a woman like Chloe (the woman he almost died for). I hope we get to see Chloe footage in the final episode explaining what happened. I imagine this project will be really good for the careers of both the actors who play Cal and Chloe. Unfortunately though a "serial killer" is a cheap and easy way to explain things away. "He did it because he's a serial killer" as opposed to having motive.

Too many of the killings seemed, to me, to be random & the result of previously set traps. Even the killing of Mr. Wellington could have been any member of the wedding party. He just happened to be under the contraption that slammed down. Richard's harpoon could have been rigged. Lucy falling in the pit was random. The only thing that's evident is that everyone is supposed to die one way or another. If we get an explanation for each murder then it's a bonus for me. Last Edited By: Fluffynurse 06/27/09 6:36 PM. The same way that they don't think about the logical way that Wakefield could easily be shot- and everything goes in the right direction and falls into place without the logic of practicality. Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None was pretty damn good in explaining and justifying practicalities and contingencies for the killer. Harper's is just 101 Horror where everything goes right for the killer. The killer is going to have to have had dramatic weight to Abby. Henry's is the most obvious -and yes, they have made a point in having no romantic overtones where they could wind up together if Jimmy is the killer. They made an overtone by the bridesmaids asking Abby a question but that was halted -FOR A REASON. No, the sheriff's death of crying, "You and Jimmy belong together," is enough to foreshadow Jimmy and Abby will be the final couple (boring); Trish will live and have her sister and neice - a little wiser and tougher. The fun in this show was the slyness of the supporting cast -Chloe, Cal, Shane, Sully, Wellington...

I'm likely going to be way off but it's fun to speculate and i'm bored anyway. 1. Ben Wellington No Idea but I hear we will find out. Maybe knew something he shouldn't have? Killed by either Wakefield or second killer..or combined? 2. Marty Dunn I think this was done by Wakefield due to his body being strung up. He likely used a headspade or his swordy weapon he's been using. I think his death connects to the money. When we find out what the money was for, we'll know why Marty died. 3. Reverend Fain Again Wakefield. Not sure if it was planned or not. It could be that he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, or that he was to be taken to prevent the wedding. 4. Kelly Seaver Wakefield. The hanging has Wakefield writen all over it. He killed her mom and came back for her after she'd seen him still alive and was talking to Abby. Why her eyes were dyed red? i'm sure we'll never know. 5. Lucy Daramour I dunno on this one. I'm certain Lucy was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I think she was killed by the second killer..but it could have been Wakefield. Gigi <33333333 6. Hunter Jennings The second killer set this up i'm thinking as Wakefield doesn't seem like a mechanical trap kinda guy. I'm not sure if this was to specifically off Hunter, or to protect the money from the boats driver, or both. 7. Joel Booth Poor Guy. Shot himself and then bled to death after being pretty much a non entity his four episodes. 8. Thomas Wellington Again the second killer due to it being a trap. This was set up to take out Wellington (it wasn't random). Thomas was too powerful and threatening to the killer to have around later. 9. Richard Allen I'm thinking Wakefield. He was strung up like other Wakefield victims. I would guess it had something to do with timing and Richard having a reason to disappear. I think it could be deeper than that..but probably not. 10. Malcolm Ross Wakefield I think? Again a connection with the money lead to his dimise. 11. Deputy Garrett I think this was the second killer but could have been Wakefield. Obviously done to free JD, and to get rid of a cop I suppose. 12. Cole Harkin I'm thinking Wakefield due to their history but it could also have been the second killer. 13. JD Dunn I think this was the second killer. JD knew too much at this point. 14. Beth Barrington <33333 Wakefield due to way of death. She was snooping where she shouldn't have. 15. Katherine Wellington <33333 I guess wrong place at the wrong time? No Idea. I would guess the second killer did this unless Wakefield snuck in unnoticed. 16 and 17. State Troopers Unfortunate to be working that day. 18. Maggie Krell Wakefield. She left the group..that's all i've got. 19. Sheriff Mills Wakefield. Their history and a deal to save Jimmy. 20. Nikki Bolton Wakefield. Tried to shoot Wakefield. 21. Shane Pierce <33333 Wakefield. Tried to fight Wakefield. 22. Deputy Lillis Wakefield. Was a cop and i'm assuming he investigated the bell (if he was still alive at that point) and came face to face with Wakefield (or Jimmy if he is the second killer) who cut his throat. 23. Cal Van Deusen <33333 Wakefield. Because Wakefield is an asshole and he was testing Cal and Chloe's love I guess? 24. Chloe Carter <3333333333333333333333 Chloe. Her final Fuck You to Wakefield. At this point I think Wakefield, Danny, Jimmy and Shea may also die. I predict Trish will be the second killer and will also die. Madison, Abby, Sully and Henry will survive. My guess Trish has a lot to do with Cole sending his dog after her, Wakefield not killing her immediately, Jimmy seemingly uncomfortable around her, among other things.
