Anoop will make it, bitches! Where is your faith? Fafu2 will be the wildcard.

I'm glad that was a goof because I like that bald welder guy (although I'm probably the only one!)
I also like Anoop - he is my fav from group 1. Why can they not go ahead and tell us who will be in groups 2 and 3? |

Matt G has said he's in Group 2. I think that's all we know about the other groups so far.

I love Candi being here. She's got the inside pulse as to what's going on. :)

I'd say David Hernandez and Carly Smithson, one of whose story was negative publicity and one of whose was questionably sympathetic. I might throw David Archuleta in there too for that exaggerated story about the vocal chords, but still... My point: I don't think stories get you into the Top 12. They get you through Hollywood and that's about it. Also a boost for Anoop's fanbase: Anoop is from NC (home of Clay, Fantasia, Chris Daughtry) and he's from UNC directly, which means that he's going to get some major Tarheel support. I live in Durham, right next to Chapel Hill. Anoop is in the paper, on TV, he's everywhere. He was even the lead story this Wednesday night on CBS (that's right- CBS, not Fox) right after the highlights of the Duke-UNC game. Add into this the fact that Anoop commands a following with White suburbanites--just ask UNC Clefhangers fans--and preteen R&B fangirls and he's a big threat for the Top 12. |

I think if Charles Grigsby managed to make it through to the Top 12 with this season's format it proves that you dont need an interesting story. He was in
a pretty dull group but he managed to beat out Kim Caldwell. With this group, there are so many popular contestants that I think it would be much more
difficult. I wouldnt be surprised if people with no airtime make it through in the coming weeks though, if someone pulls out a really good performance.

What I'm saying is that Anoop has that fanbase naturally based on geography and UNC connections (add limited airtime and Youtube videos and you get a big fanbase). Either way, we'll see.... but I'm confident for Anoop. |

This is a terrible format for the ones who didn't get airtime. Lots of good people will drop as early fan favs get pushed through.
