OR I could also do a screwed/saved bonus of 3 points, players who are at tribal undeservedly get 3 points, and players who are immune undeservedly lose 3 points. If that's right, aren't you arguing for a system where the stronger eight players are on one team and the weaker eight on the other? Because they did that on Amazon and Vanuatu already.

Switching tribes kind of robs the human element from the show and makes it purely a test of strength, which would make for a boring show. You wouldn't have as many tight bonds being formed as you would with permanent alliances. Plus rearranging teams and keeping track of progress (even if not based on subjective criteria) would take up a lot of episode time and confuse viewers to the point that they'll just watch something else. You're over-complicating things with your idea. If it's too complex, viewers won't bother keeping score. Of course, with your changes Survivor would be less a show and more a sport, except a sport where you undergo various challenges with no real structure in various remote locations. And again, the most popular sports are relatively simple and easy to pick up on. And have a standard procedure, which the Survivor challenges don't even come close to, especially since they combine a lot of physical and mental aspects and even teamwork. Your idea is unfeasible in real-life applications for a variety of reasons. It's fun to entertain the idea, and I'm definitely amused with your analysis, but there's good reasons we'll never see such changes on the show.

Ready? The human element is increased when the tribes are not artificial, not permanent, and not predictable. The socializing becomes a much more challenging more important aspect of the game. Even the strongest people won't be good at every challenge. If you have a shooting challenge, Tom will be in the loser group. Balance? Terry's fucked. Brains? Goodbye, Ozzy. Even your system is exploitable by the weak.

And even it does happen, it won't last. And even if it lasts, it means those five players will suffer and starve in loser camp, until they have to pick eachother off, and then merge against players who have luxuriated in luxury camp.

The older some of the solders get the more out of shape they get, I had a sergeant that weighed like 300 pounds and was more of a burden to go to war with him than anything. Jerry should not deserve credit just for having been in the military before, there are a lot of weak individuals there.

He's in it, is a 1st Sergeant, and he had just returned from a tour of duty in Afghanistan before coming on the show.
