Of course, he's the Roughneck, remember? Nice interview intro to the song, but the first line leaves me ice cold. It's not Bo Bice quality. He can sing the words, and hit the notes, but .. umm ... he'll have to bring more than this to stay. And what's with everyone's funny faces tonight? Are they given any mirrors when they rehearse? Because when I look up from typing (seldom, I admit), I crack the hell up! He's dancing like a very bad imitation of early-Ruben-Studdard, just bouncing there. Not bad, though, seriously; just nothing to write home about. Reminds me of Brent Keith's "not right for this week" review.

Randy: Started rough pitchwise. You can sing, but I remember you doing the whole soul thing. Don't know if you performed it well.
Kara: Yeah, it's a great crowd pleaser. I like that you're singing something that's true to you, but that wasn't the best. Seen you do better.
Poler: Not going to be as hard on you. Thought you did a really good job. But you change hands with the mic, and it becomes distracting. Bo Bice, Chris Richardson did that song. Gavin's a fan of this show. You did him proud.
Simon: This is a tricky one. What I like about this show, is it gives people like you an opportunity. We put you here because we like YOU. Honest. Hard working. But this wasn't the best vocal I've ever heard. And we've heard a lot worse tonight. If you get through, it's because people like you. Your audition song was better. But I hope America does pick up the phone and give you another shot.
