Another *interesting* song selection in a night full of 'em. At least it's uptempo, so that's a plus. And he's smiling. But the first notes absolutely miss the mark. The choreographed outstretched hand?

Too soft in spots. Melisma in spots doesn't get it either. He brings back memories of a dozen or so forgotten African-American males who have done much better with tougher songs. Is this the 70's? Because that shot of him, looking up into his nostrils, brings back memories of Don Cornelius' Soul Train performances. If only his vocals were up to the task.

Randy: I dunno what's going on. When we saw you the first time, you had a whole different kind of vibe. That wasn't the joint for you. Other than the high note, it was pitchy. Not good. I don't like this.
Kara: I got more from you at the piano when you forgot the lyrics.
Steven: Believe it or not, I'm not comfortable at all, you can't go off what I did in Hollywood, I'm not 100% comfortable without the piano. I'm still working on it.
Poler: It would have served you better to sing that David Cook song. I'm so happy that you're back. But Rock With You is the kiss of death, it belongs to Michael Jackson.
Simon: I wish you had forgotten the lyrics. A pointless performance. To do this terrible song with this terrible arrangement. Whatever that was. It was atrocious except for the last 10 seconds. It was corny. You made a huge mistake.
Steven: I'm a corny guy!

Not really. Plenty of talented people audition.

They simply refuse to put them on the show.

This show is too busy casting atonal wannabes in roles, in a pathetic attempt at ratings. The whole thing is too contrived. The show has all the charisma of a Telenovela, with about half as much musical talent.
