Ok, I read on here that the winner announcement is on youtube but I can't find it. Anyone got a link? My PVR stopped just after Ryan said Cook won.

This is only the second time my favourite became the winner of AI. Kelly won which was great. Clay lost which sucked immensely. And Daughtry didn't even make the finals. Gotta say, it feels good to see my fave win.

And if they do/did sing ballads it would be about puppy love and first kisses in high school while David A won't even say the word "love", or "kiss", etc etc etc etc etc except for maybe 1 time.

A few thoughts on the night:

-I was really impressed how professional Syesha seemed tonight. Girl really has stepped up her game and did a great job next to some all-stars.
-There seemed to be a lot of focus on Michael Johns. Trying to remind the audience to salvage him a career, are we?
-I thought Archuleta was great; One Republic not as good.
-George Michael was REALLY boring tonight. A real snoozer leading into the end. What a bad decision in terms of timing.
-Really glad that Cook won. Though I didn't think it'd be the worst thing ever for Archuleta to win (he did do the best last night), it was the first time in three years that my favorite of the final 2 won.
-The finale song was terrible. I wish they had both just sung "In this Moment." Much, much better than the winning single.

And finally, boo to all the spoilers that predicted yesterday's songs and forecasted a Mariah/David Cook duet. I had gotten my hopes way up. That one second during David's intro to "Always Be My Baby" was my favorite moment of the season.

West Coast here and I am still watching the show. But Yay for Cook! I am so happy. Thanks for the warning that the show spilled over to the next hour. I have also recorded the following hour.

- Watching Brooke with her duet, I love her!
- Bryan Adams - why is his head 5x bigger than the rest of his body?

WTF was up with that Amanda Overbearing b*tch? She totally looked out of it the entire nite...as if she had been dragged against her will to be there or something. She needs to be stabbed. She had the opportunity to be in the presence of greatness: David Cook, Carly Smithson and Michael Johns.

I don't think this would have panned out as well as others seem to think it would've. I think it would've been a hot mess. A disaster, actually! Worse than Kat P. & Meatloaf during the season 5 finale.

This truly has been the WORST SEASON EVER. David Cook's win just confirms it. I compared and contrasted him with the other six winners of American Idol, and basically, the chasm between them and him is laughable. I can find not one redeeming feature about David Cook that can justify his winning the competition, other than him having marginal talent. He lacks charisma, star quality, and is so ugly from the inside out that even the Queer Eye guys would have a hard time making him over, or under, or whatever. Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood had the total package. Ruben Studdard, Taylor Hicks, and Fantasia Barrino were royally talented, but their radiation-like charm was what won America over. Even Jordin Sparks had some redeeming qualities: girlish appeal, great voice, and appeal to the younger masses. Oh, and aren't rockers supposed to have some type of charisma? Bo Bice had it in spades. Amanda Overmyer (the lone standout in this, the WORST SEASON EVER) also had charisma. David Cook didn't.

I just hope to Goddess that So You Think You Can Dance 2008 is better than this piece of shit that we call American Idol 2008. You know what was more interesting tonight than the Grand Final? A rerun of Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl 2008. A marathon of Snapped on Oxygen. A repeat of Jimmy trying to get laid on the night of the Talent Show on South Park. Hell, public access television would have been more interesting than the Grand Final of Idol.
