I replayed the G Michael Medley they were doing and her part was TERRIBLE and God damn why can't she get rid of that damn hair. It makes her look old and it's just fugly

Remember Diana? Her album was targeted at that age bracket and tanked.

They don't market the idols well enough to sell to that age bracket

Those kids sing upbeat, peppy fun songs... In contrast Archie sings mainly ballads and has had trouble with upbeat songs. Plus, Archie is 17, soon he will grow out of his pubescent looks, and the shelf life for Hannah and her ilk is small..

In contrast, Cook is someone who appeals to the entire spectrum, and his music is radio friendly... Daughtry is probably going to have more long term success than Hannah...Archuleta is extremely talented, but I think he needs work and needs to find his musical identity. But I don't think his ballad style will be appealing to the Hannah crowd.

So happy that Cook won, although there was no bad winner this year, as both deserved it for different reasons. But Cook appeals to me more, so I'm very happy.

As soon as Simon said "I watched the tapes last night", I turned to my husband and said OMG COOK WON!!

A rerun of Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl 2008. A marathon of Snapped on Oxygen. A repeat of Jimmy trying to get laid on the night of the Talent Show on South Park. Hell, public access television would have been more interesting than the Grand Final of Idol.

Yep - there's a certain element of these Idol fucktards to think that you've suddenly become 'too cool' for Idol. Yeah, the same people that drove 10 hours to an audition, waited in live 24 hours to audition, jumped like an asshole when you got the 'golden ticket', quit your job to be on the show and cried like a baby when you made the Top 24. All of which takes you from being a singer in shitty bar bands in Terra Haute, IN to getting to show off your goods in front of 200M people on THE MOST POPULAR SHOW ON TV. Don't they realize what an unbelievable fasttrack this is? Would be like taking a guy playing in a recreational tag football league and having him start for the Cowboys on Monday Night Football!

Sorry, you ain't too cool for school. You're a rocker - IN COMPARISON - to people like Archuletta. Compared to real rockers, you ain't a rocker.

Suck it up, be thankful.

That's why I quite enjoyed the show - everyone of them looked like they were having a GREAT time - especially Carly, Michael, Brooke and Syesha. They looked like they were having fun. If I knew that I went from singing in lame bars to staying at Suites at the Ritz, singing in front of 20,000 people every night, getting exposure, getting deals, getting interviewed on E and flying first class - when 3 months ago I was waiting tables or nannying, I'd be smiling by balls off too!

Amanda sucks the ass of Archuletta's creepy stage dad.

BTW - the real story of this year has been the transformation of Syesha.

Sure, she was a hottie before, but over the last 4 weeks or so, she has emerged as a SMOKIN' hot sista - wow! The stylists sure recognized what they have with her and got it right. Every time she comes out, she looks finer than the time before. She's bangin!

As opposed to Archie's dopey graphic Ts from Express, members only jacket thingies and Nike ID shoes. Oh and not to mention Cook's awful cowboy boots with the curled up elf toes.

Yay for the Cook win!!!!! I couldn't concentrate at work last night not knowing who had won, now I shall sleep with a smile on my face :) Unfortunately I will now have to endure season 8. P.S. Is any part of the finale worth watching or just the last five mins?

Brooke's duet with Graham Nash. Very good, exactly in her element (the Mary Hopkin/Ann Murray niche) and she's still the nicest looking 40-year old I've ever seen. I do think that Nash was smitten.

Cook and ZZ Top. The funnest 80s rock band, Cook having a blast.

Cook's Risky Business commercial for Guitar Hero. I actually LOL'd at that. I do think that Cook has a dry sense of humor, and can laugh at himself and the situation he was in.

Cook winning and the aftermath. Class act.

Um... that's about 12 minutes out of 120. Not bad, actually.
