By Coby's comment, it sounds like there are some 3rd timers who Sucks won't be happy about. I'm guessing the 4 will be something like: Rupert (Hero) Stephenie (Hero) Boston Rob (Villain) Jerri (Villain) |

I find it ironic that the same culprits keep on coming back to this thread even though they supposedly don't like the idea. I've only ever posted 103 times, yet all of a sudden, people who post much more regularly than I do are telling me to get a girlfriend (which I already have). Maybe your own inadequecies lead you to try and bring someone else down in the hope that it will make you feel better. Oh and Bowie, I didn't speak up then, because I don't like to criticise other people's views, but you seem to roll that way so I may as well. Stop commenting on tennis and its history when you clearly have little knowledge of the topic. To say that Lleyton Hewitt is one of the all-time greats at Wimbledon is just ridiculous. There are at least 10-15 players in the open era alone who have clearly outperformed Hewitt: Federer Sampras Borg McEnroe Becker Edberg Nadal Laver Newcombe Connors Agassi Ivanisevic Let's not forget the countless others who dominated Wimbledon before the Open Era. And if you still want to use the argument that Hewitt, even if not one of the best players at Wimbledon, is one of the best grass-courters of all time, that is even more ridiculous. Yes I know he's one Queens multiple times, and so has Roddick, but who cares. Remember that the Aus Open until recently was played on grass, as was the US Open. The achievements of players before the 70's and 80's on grass in Grand Slams make Hewitt's 1 Wimbledon title (and no other finals) pail in significance. Get your facts straight before talking about sports buddy. |

matty p wrote: If this is true then Coach, Tyson, Corinne, Randy, Sugar and JT are locks for this. Conceptually they can construct a pretty good cast for this without bringing back 3rd timers. The only problem I'm having is finding enough female 'Heroes'. Villain tribe: Males - Coach, Tyson, Randy, Dreamz, Shane Females - Corinne, Natalie, Courtney Y., Katie, Twila Hero Tribe: Males - JT, Bob, Erik R., Yul, Terry (or Tom if he decides to accept) Females - Sierra (?), Sugar, Crystal (?), Candice (?) (really tough to get likeable women that haven't already played twice) If only 16 are cast, drop Shane, Katie and Terry. |

matty p wrote: I see you haven't learnt to read either -- or post in the correct threads lol. If you re-read my argument, you'll notice that I weight recent tennis wins more favorably than tennis wins from decades ago, and Jesus Christ dude, none of those other players ever had to contend with Federer, now renowned to be the greatest player of all-time. Also note that Hewitt was #1 in the world for over 80 weeks, shy of pretty much only Connors, Borg, Lendl, McEnroe, Agassi and Gods Federer and Sampras. Granted, several older players suffered defeats at the hands of Sampras just as Hewitt and others have been defeated by Federer countless times, but did I say that they WEREN'T among the greatest grass courters in the world? No! I said Hewitt was ONE OF THE GREATEST, and he *is*. Man, in 90% of the tournaments he loses in, he loses to the winner or the runner-up -- and agonizingly close at that. If you don't think Hewitt was one of the Top 4 players at this year's Wimbledon -- an impressive feat after years of injury recovery and having to deal with the injury against Stepanek and Roddick and lasting 5 incredible sets of tennis both times -- then there's no talking to you. |

Only one (or two) people I would like to see from the original all-stars, for a 3rd time round.
Number 1--- Shii Ann! Bring her back! Will not tune in if Boston Rob, Amber, or Rupert return. Overall, the Heroes vs Villains thing doesn't sound like it will have the same impact as Fans vs Favs. I see a bomb happening, unless they have new heroes for us. |

The thought of Sugar being on a "hero" tribe would be hilarious miscasting, and the thought of Corinne playing again would make me puke with rage.
Hell, either of those two playing again would.

Bowie wrote: 1. Hewitt was number 1 for 80 weeks - So what, we're talking about grass-court players not all courts. And if you really want to use that argument, check out the players that Hewitt was up against in that era - Roddick, Safin, Kuerten, Ferrero. Easily one of the weakest eras in tennis history. If Federer and Nadal were at or near their peak in 2000-2003, Hewitt would have never won a Grand Slam and there's no way he would have ever got to number 1 in the world. 2. In 90% of tournaments he loses to the winner or the runner-up and agonizingly close at that - Massive exaggeration there on both counts. Firstly, he doesn't lose to the winner or runner-up 90% of the time, and do you honestly think if he didn't have to play Fed or Rafa in these tournaments that he'd manage to beat Djokovic, Murray, Del Potro, Roddick, Verdasco, Tsonga, Gonzalez etc consistently? Secondly, he doesn't come "agonisingly close" to beating these players. He rarely even gets a sniff against the top players. 3. This year's Wimbledon - I never said that I didn't think Hewitt was good at this year's Wimbledon. He was terrific. I don't think he would've beaten Murray in the semis even if he had beaten Roddick, and there's no way he would've got close to Fed, but he probably could've beaten nearly every other player in the draw this year (although Djokovic, Haas and Karlovic would've been tough). Does this performance make him one of the greatest ever grass-courters - No. Top 20 - Maybe. |
