Blindside are what happened to John in Marquesas or James in China... Nowadays ANY VOTE is a one? I mean last week's vote technically wasn't one either... It's starting to piss me off!
ETA: Do I get a Pass now that I got it right?

How was tonight's vote a BLINDSIDE? This is becoming rediculous! Of course this season will have a record of blindside that's cuz Jeff is counting
pretty much every vote as one!

Everything is a blindside nowadays. |

It's a blindside if you don't even know you're an option to go.
Carolina thought Sandy was going for sure. Candace thought Sierra was going for sure. It just wasn't as "OMG EPIC!!!" as the, say, Leanne blindside. |

It is stupid. If you don't go into TC 100% knowing you're going home then it's a blindside? Wtf? That's just a typical vote.

Since when did the definition of "blindside" change? A blindside is when the person being voted off doesn't know that they're about to be
voted off. Candace fits the bill. She had no idea it would be her.
Just because it wasn't as epic as Rupert's blindside or Ozzy's blindside or Leann's blindside doesn't mean it wasn't a blindside. |

They're definitely going a bit too far with the "blindside" thing. To me, most blindsides are post-merge. An example of a pre-merge blindside
would be Trish in Pearl Islands. A 7-1 vote is not a blindside, it's just not telling the person they're leaving (smart.) Is that Cruel Intentions?
Love it.

But this haphazard use of the word "blindside" is diminishing its meaning.
Probst needs to watch Micronesia again. |

I wouldn't say Carolina was blindsided really, but Candace definitely was which was proven by her final words. She had no idea she was getting voted out.

A "blindside" to me though is when somebody thinks they're running the show only to not be actually running the show. Deena and Alex in Amazon.
Trish in PI. Dolly/Leann in Vanuatu. Judd in Guatemala. Etc. If Candace had gone with the Coach vote only to be blindsided, that'd be different, but she
was merely going along with the supposed Sierra vote.

Blindside are what happened to John in Marquesas Yeah, I think it's long been established that John was not blindsided. Kathy told him before TC. |

blindside - catch unawares, especially with harmful consequences
Sounds pretty much like what happened to both Carolina and Candace. Neither one thought they were going, both were caught unaware and both suffered harmful consequences. |

A blindside is really in reference to the AUDIENCE not the cast. we never actually know exactly what each castmember knows when, we only know what the editing tells us.... if the AUDIENCE is completely caught off guard, then it's a blindside...A-DUH. |

I think the real problem is that six days isn't enough time for anyone to feel comfortable enough to be truly "blindsided". Probst is using the
term too much. I'm surprised Jeff didn't say to Sierra and Sandy on Day 1, "Ooooh! Blindsided!"
