No, this is not a bitching thread (declining quality, mactors etc.) If anything, I like the Tocantins cast and format. But I never got emotionally vested in
Gabon and this new season's not doing it for me either. It's my worst nightmare come true, I think I'm finally burned out of Survivor!

Take the season off. I didn't watch Vanuatu right away after All-Stars and I was craving for Survivor again during Palau.

and yes i am survivored out, i think once jonathan christ left survivor has become complete shit. All joking aside, that might be my problem. In most seasons I usually have someone that I'm really rooting for, thus they hook me on the season and even if they leave well I'm already invested in it. I never really liked anyone from Gabon and I'm having a hard time finding someone to root for in this season too. It's like a vicious circle: Nobody to root for = no interest in the season = Survivor addiction drying out. |

Meh, I mean it's still a good show. Arguably the best reality show in terms of production value, and I actually find the Tocantins cast to be a vast
improvement over recent seasons' tragedies.
But let's face it, after a while any show becomes a procedural. There are good moments, but nothing that we haven't really seen before. Now somehow people still watch shows like Law & Order and CSI despite their repetitive nature, so I think Survivor itself will be around awhile, too. But you're right, I'm not as enthused as I once was. Still want to watch and get on, though, because the experience itself looks like one that you can't beat. |

My survivoring-out was the stretch of Fiji, China, and Micronesia, and so far, both Gabon and Tocantins have been great rebounds.

I generally only get invested in one season a year, and it's usually the spring season for some reason.

If you are burnt out, maybe you should stop posting at sucks lol. I mean, if you're posting at sucks you obviously love the show so I can't really see
how you can get burnt out by it. I think its posting here everyday and analyzing every little thing the castaways do that might be burning you out. The show is
only one hour a week.

N'ah, I found plenty of people to root for and against in Gabon so I was definitely invested in last season. It's still early in this season for me to
really make a judgment, but so far so good.

Oh don't worry, I'm not going anywhere anytime soon.
Anyone who's been here a while should know that watching the show and posting here are 2 very seperate activities.

I am. I'm having trouble getting into this season, but I'm trying. The biggest problem in most seasons is the lack of interesting characters --
it's always the same types of characters.
I also felt a little irritated by Gabon's intentionally misleading edit. It was interesting at first because there seemed to be lots of surprise boots, but I still have a bitter taste in my mouth from the Bob-win. |
