I know I'm going to have to watch this. I hate that I have to watch this, but I know I do. It's a sickness. But reading through these comments,
knowing now that it's actually going to make me sick is making me put it off. Which is making me unable to really begin to enjoy my day, having
it hanging over me. It's like being on the verge of vomiting and not wanting to, but knowing that you'll feel better once it's over. The Gokey
bile is rising in my throat. I guess it's time to purge.

In past seasons, I've always thought the age gap on Idol, from 16 to 28, was unfair to the young ones who haven't had the experience to express
themselves. You get a gifted singer like Allison who comes across initially as clumsy in interviews and it hurts her in votes. How can an Allison compete
against a seasoned Adam in those cases?
But here is Gokey who is older than Adam and is clumsier in expression than any of the Top 10 we have heard to date. It was a stifling 5 segments to sit through, something I won't repeat like I did the Anoop or Adam sessions. Even Allison(who is Most Improved in Interviews 101 this year) came across as light years better than the oaf. Kudos to SI for finding the perfect word to sum up Gokey, "oaf." Now Gokey can reinvent himself with a new name: Meat Oaf. |

OMG, so I watched it.
"I wasn't thinking about my wife I was angry.." ie he missed a note and got pissed off for the rest of the song. What a tool. So boring. My God, STFU. That sucked. And, nice try Gokey saying you didn't know of any of the songs you had to sing. Well wait, maybe I knew three. No, four. Oh yeah I knew Jesus Takes The Wheel... please, stop looking for sympathy and own up to the fact that you kind of suck. Its pathetic to whine and claim ignorance Danny.

Besides the delusional factor, he comes off as quite inarticulate.

Based on the comments here I so don't want to watch this crap, but of course I will.
Did he really say it was so much harder because he only sang gospel before? What a douche. I don't buy for a second that he didn't know most of the songs he sang before hand. If he didn't he's still a stupid oaf because for real, get your head out of your ass and listen to some other types of music beside Jesus praise you douche nozzle. |

robbiefan wrote:In all of the "Danny really is a gigantic douche" focus of this interview, not to be lost is just how skillful of an interviewer Michael Slezak is. He owned his season-long Danny hate right at the start and gave Danny a chance to respond. He asked him outright about the dead wife pimping, specifically citing the infamous picture incident. I loved how he subtly called Danny out on the hypocrisy of his whole laughing hysterically about the god-awful "Scream On" after his earlier story about being such a perfectionist that he got so angry after missing a note in "Endless Love." Best of all was his "I'm not just picking on you" intro of "I asked Kris about being dissed by Simon after the show, I asked Adam about being dissed by Gene Simmons" then (bonus blindside) zinging him with the Benson comments. "Who said that?" "Well, I guess there's one name you can cross off your list of potential producers." Thanks again to miraclemax for the introduction. Idolatry really enhanced my enjoyment of this season. |

Yep, noticed that myself. Danny just doesn't really how he makes himself out to be a total tool, and that nobody is buying his bs. |

That Gokey interview was painful--bring on Kris' interview.

I have never been on the Danny hate wagon. I thought the massive wife-insults were just tacky and pathetic. But,
after that interview, count me in on hating that guy. Seriously, an awful interview. I can't count the number of times he praised himself. The number of
times he made excuses for poor decisions he made on the show. Not to mention how many off-hand insulting comments he made. "Male and female duets are
just better" hint hint? What the hell. Awful guy, right there.
Adam still is a blowhard dickface, but Danny at least rivals him in the most massive douchebag of Season 8 award. |

For Dream On he thought he hit it and was pleased with himself, it was only afterwards that it was 'funny' What infuriates me about that is that he won't admit it was BAD, he just says it was funny. he can't be self-deprecating and say ha ha, that was terrible, he only describes it as funny. And he blames the lighting and camera angle in making it seem worse. |

He's so damn awkward, and that interview was like painful to watch. Did he always have that stutter?

No Danny, America pretty much canned you after that fuck fest of a song. He's lucky he got to 3rd place, he should have gone home long before that. And enough of the freaking excuses, just admit already you are not a star quality person and go back to the church choir where you belong. Seriously, douche is not going to cut it in the music biz, he just doesn't have it. |

While I've hated Danny I've often times given him the benefit of the doubt and I think a lot of the hate around him was people simply reading too much
into things. That said, that really was an awful interview and he does come across as a huge asshole. The guy can't string together a coherent sentence,
talks in circles, and has an awful condescending tone to his voice.
