I went to Jared's bar mitzvah this past spring, and Guylan was staying with him for several days. Also, Morgan flew down for it, and Hunter's family
came over. Taylor and Kennedy both wanted to be there, but Taylor had some beauty pageant thing and Kennedy had to play in a tennis tournament.
Several of us had a small get-together the spring before this past one. Laurel, Morgan, Kennedy, and Leila came and we all went to Disney a couple of days. I haven't seen any of the guys much since the first year and we were doing publicity stuff for the show. I've probably seen Jared more than anybody, since his family comes down to Disney a lot and we usually have them over for dinner when they do. Morgan wants everyone to try and meet for a big get-together this coming spring or summer, but I don't know how much success she'll have. To be fair, we should probably try and meet somewhere like Chicago, so the kids in the west and on the coast don't have so far to come. Taylor is in eighth grade this year, and is still real active in beauty pageants. She's Little Miss Preteen National something or other. If you google her name, you'll probably see a story about it. I've seen her a couple of times, when her family came down. And whatever national title Taylor holds, Leila holds the state title for North Carolina. Leila's had a growth spurt, and is as tall as I am now. |

I guess I'm probably closest to Laurel, Morgan, and Kennedy. We were the older girls on the green team, so we got pretty close.
I don't think anybody genuinely dislikes anybody else. Like all groups of kids, we sometimes had trouble all getting along, and we argued and fussed a lot. But we all like each other. (Keep in mind that a lot of what you saw on the show was edited to appear a certain way.) I've never seen Survivor and don't really know anything about it. I will say that if Kid Nation had been a real dog-eat-dog survival contest, then Greg, Colton, and Hunter would probably have done as well as anyone. No idea about a favorite fruit. Since I live in Florida, I'll say orange.

A couple of questions, Sophia, if you can answer them:
Did you think it was fair the way the town council presented the gold stars? How much did the producers influence what we saw on the show? |

Sophia I loved you in Kid Nation! I'm so glad you got two stars.

I don't think anyone who got a gold star didn't work hard for it, but there were a lot of dependable, hard-working kids who deserved a gold star and
didn't get one. And some of them worked a lot harder and helped the town a lot more than some of us who did get gold stars, in my opinion.
In regard to your second question, let me just say that the producer's primary objective was to make an entertaning show that people would enjoy watching. To do that, they needed some conflict between the kids, and some problems that we'd all have to face together. Just as an example (without revealing too much), it doesn't take a genius to know that it's not a good idea to throw all your garbage in one alleyway right in the middle of town. But that was one of the problems that their overall "narrative scheme" planned for us to deal with, so they didn't want us to solve that problem too quickly.
