OK, so I just watched the first hour of the premier. Here are some things I noticed:

3. I think it was the smoke monster before they were sure what the smoke monster was. Actually, I'm not sure if they know what it is yet, lol.
5. It did come up again in Season 3, so it's possible we'll see/hear it again. |

Yep. Kate had to repeat the "count to 5" story to Jack via walkie talkie or something when she and Sawyer were allowed to leave Otherville and were
safe.

UGH, the dreaded "count to 5" story. You could tell Jack was just havin a flashback and thinking "damn I'm good" when Kate was
repeating it via the walkie

Maybe slightly off topic, but I'm rewatching the S2 finale, and Des mentions to Locke that Eko can't blow up the doors with dynamite, it could take an
atom bomb to do that....

I'm glad I rewatched the premier (only second time I've seen it--I guess some of you have watched it many times). It's interesting seeing the early
Jin-Sun dynamic. When she was still pretending not to speak English and he came across as a controlling abuser. I wonder how much of Jin's backstory was
written ahead of time. I.E., whether they knew all along that Jin would be "redeemed", or at least have his actions explained. Or, if they were going
to go with the abusive storyline and changed it later on. And it's also cool seeing how much Sun has changed since the beginning. She's so kick ass
now!!

Yeah that's what I was thinking. People like Hurley, Sawyer, and Sun went in very different directions than I initially expected to go. They're like
completely different people!

Yeah, in the beginning Jin was probably my most disliked character, but by the end of season one he was up close to the top. Not at the very top, but up there.

Me too. I know many don't like the Sun and Jin episodes, but I've enjoyed seeing their relationship evolve over the years. I'm looking forward to
their reunion.

I saw the first one. I was thinking about the character changes as well... Jin and Sawyer are so much more likable now...It's almost like I didn't
like seeing those two characters the way they were then...
There was one scene that I noticed the last time I watched this episode: The first time the Losties heard the monster from the beach, in the background you could hear Rose say something like "there's something that sounds familiar about it." Then someone asked her where she was from, and she said New York. At first, I thought that might be a clue as to what the monster was, but I think I saw on a special feature or something that the sound was actually a taxi printing out a receipt. Maybe they just threw that in there to sound spooky...But I don't know why they had Rose point it out. |

Rewatched the pilot episode. Sawyer's hair was so short then, kinda weird knowing what he looks like now. He still brought the funny though. After Sawyer
killed the polar bear, Kate: "Where did that come from?" (referring to the gun) and Sawyer says "Bear village... How do I know?!"
After Jughead, I remembered reading the pilot had on WW2 wings on (despite not being old enough to have been in WW2 and they were discontinued soon after) and the flight attendants wearing them too. I looked out for that, and sure enough, they were there. Sayid vs. Sawyer was pretty good too. I miss Shannon. She was great for a laugh. Boone, not so much. I don't know how I could of but I had forgotten Locke told Walt his secret. |

My first time through the first season, my initial sense of all the characters is that these were all "broken" people in some sense of the word--they
all needed to find something on the island. Charlie's drug use, Kate's criminal past, Jack's daddy issues, etc. Once the others came in that idea
kind of went by the wayside in my mind though.

My first thought was it was instant Dharma, I mean, Instant Karma Island. Like Sayid tortures Sawyer and then is captured and tortured by Danielle and Boone caused his sitter to fall to her death and then he falls to his death. |

Boone, not so muchI felt sorry for Boone. I'm a big softie. And he's effin' gorgeous, too. |

I'm with you about Boone, Felicia. I really hated it when he died and I don't necessarily buy that he had to die to compensate for Theresa's
death. As for Shannon, I still find her to be the most useless character ever. For me it's like nails grating on a blackboard whenever she's around.
Ugh.
Something I noticed last time I went through seasons 1-3, notice how many of the early episodes began by focusing on someone's eye. Very interesting. |
