1. Yes, Sucks is a haters board. Glad you figured it out!
2. The reason absolutely outrageously tangential suggestions aren't stomached is because the current major twists. Exile Island and the Hidden Immunity Idol, which are not even outrageous, do very little to help improve the show. These twists have caused the main focus of Survivor to no longer be about strategy and social interaction, but how to use Exile and HII, which have never even produced a success except for TWICE out of the 7 seasons it has been implemented.
3. Guess what? Not all sucks posts live in North America! But the essence of Survivor is a bunch of strangers being stranded somewhere FOREIGN, and trying to outlast each other. If it happened anyway on America or Canada or even Mexico, it takes away the element of difference. Even though it may not be a location people often visit, it takes away that feeling of watching people play some places wild.
1. Duh.
2. Do twists have to improve the show? I don't think any twist can, but they can certainly go a LONG way to increasing longevity, which is, of course, the primary reason they were ever introduced, no? I'd love to watch 20 seasons of the same thing with different locations and contestants, but I'm pretty sure I'd be looking forward to some surprises along the way by now.
3. Yeah I'm not American I'm from Australia. My redneck comment was just me joining in on -- rather than attempting to beat -- the pointless aggression and smarmy remarks that quantify this site. But that aside, I disagree with the idea of the essence of Survivor: it's about people outwitting, outplaying and outlasting other people in harsh survival-of-the-fittest environments, no? Besides, after like 10 seasons of the Pacific Islands, how can anyone consider those locations foreign any more? I think it's perfectly absurd to think that Survivor will never take place in North America -- home to some of the harshest and most 'foreign-seeming' environments in the world, especially Alaska or the Nevada desert. True, Mark Burnett might have made some comment in the past about Survivor never to be set in a cold location, but find me where Jeff or Mark rule out a North American location and I'll eat my words. It's coming, I tell you. If not #20 or #25, it'll be the final season. For sure.
