Wouldn't usually give a damn about a new generic cop show, but my boy Ben McKenzie (The OC, 88 Minutes) co-stars here, so I am without question going to check it out.
I highly doubt it makes it, but you never know. Hope I'm wrong. I believe it starts April 9th.

NBC seems to never give shows a chance, but maybe this will be different. I love me some Ryan Atwood so I'll tune in for the first ep at least and see if I

I saw a commercial and decided to look up the show. Tom Everett Scott is in it, so I'm 100% sure the show is going to tank.
And one of the cops is gay! |

I like it! Just finished the first episode. I am not sure if it was the camera angles or what made this show different... but I thought it was pretty good. I
like that it shows all the different areas of the law enforcement. The detectives, the cops in squad cars, down to the vice girls on the street.
I'll keep watching. |

From the previews it reminds me of Boomtown with Donnie Wahlberg, so I'll give it a shot, since that was an awesome show that NBC didn't give a chance
to either.
MIchael Cudlitz (he's done a lot of episodic and I like him) Regina King Tom Everett Scott Good casting.

I could have sworn C. Thomas Howell was in this first ep... but I can't find his name on any cast or credits.
ETA: yep... he was the sexist pig, cop (lol). Found his name on another site. |

I know it doesn't start until April 9th but the ep is already on the world wide web. I like the documentary effect. I liked Ben McKenzie is this part. He
plays a richie rich 90210 type of boy that becomes a cop and I suppose a man (as the show progresses). Seems like
there are a lot of different storylines varying different characters going on at the same time. Kinda reminded me of the movie Crash.

Interesting comments in this thread. I might watch this then. I thought Boomtown was one of the best cop shows ever, the first season in particular.
Tom Everett Scott is in it, so I'm 100% sure the show is going to tank. 
I have seen him in so many showsthat crash and burn just a few episodes in. Maybe he's cursed. |

The veteran cop lead seems to always play cops - he played two different cop characters on CSI.

Damn, I shouldn't have ventured into this thread. Comparisons to Boomtown (I'm w/Cassidy & Anders) have intrigued me, so I guess I'm going to
give it a shot. Which sucks, because I don't want to get hooked on YET ANOTHER great show, only to have NBC cancel it abruptly.

I liked it. The previews wore out most of the real heavy stuff, but overall, I give it a solid B+.
The two hospital scenes with McKenzie worked quite well and you already get the sense that the peeps in charge have a handle on how to carry multiple angles at once. I will no doubt be back next week. |
