I'm watching the first episode right now after watching the second episode last night. I really like this show, and I'll definitely be tuning in next
week after The Office and 30 Rock. :) I'm just hoping that nothing happens to Janila, but I think something might.

This was the best of the eps that have aired so I wonder if they are going to keep getting better.
Although I think the main focus of the show should be on the street cops. The detectives are boring as shit |

Totally agree about this being the best so far and about the focus being on the street cops. It has been a long time since a show this good has been on tv with
street cops.

I love that this show has a lot of realism. My ex told me often of the "I'm shot, where are we?" scenario. It's what he does to trainees
and what he got taught as a trainee.

Maybe I spoke too soon when I said this show would definitely be renewed. Ratings have been dropping significantly for the past few weeks.
NBC can't seem to buy a hit show these days. They should probably just cancel everything and start over from scratch. |

good episode where they followed the detectives and not the patrolmen
a lot of short segments with many commercials tho...helps to record and watch later |

Southland Cops a Second Season.
Just days before NBC is set to show its entire hand for the 2009-10 TV season, the network picked up the freshman drama Southland for 13 episodes. Southland could return in the fall, meaning that NBC thus far has two 9 pm dramas - Law & Order: SVU included - in the bank for the first half of the season. That's important to monitor, since Jay Leno's new show will claim the 10 o'clock hour every weeknight. Earlier this week, NBC renewed The Celebrity Apprentice. Previously, the Peacock officially picked up new seasons of 30 Rock, The Office, Friday Night Lights (midseason) and The Biggest Loser, while Heroes' return is considered a done deal. NBC will hold its "in front" fall TV presentation this Monday. The other major networks show off their wares the week of May 18.

To think I almost didn't want to bother with this show. I'm glad I tuned in for the premier, because I have been hooked and actually like this show.

^ lmao, look up.
Southland is such a raw show and all the "shock" moments are realistic and awesome. Episode 4 rocked because of the omission of the cops. I cant stand that annoying guy that got shot (?), then "retired" then came back. 
But its freaking confusing, everything happens pretty fast since there's like 10 (?) main charecters to keep track of. Black woman, Janilla (?), Russell, Sal (?), Sammy and his insane wife/dog, and the fat cop are all really really good, engaging charecters. I can just see Janilla as a future cast member in season 10 or something. |

I'll say it again - I like that this show doesn't focus on one set of cops (beat cops/detectives) but rather all aspects of a precinct. I'm a fan
of the show. I'm glad it was renewed.
